I think we should trade the #15 and KT for new york's 7th pick and draft tskitishvilli. I mean new york does need inside presents and KT would provide instant help.
I think most mock drafts have NY selecting Borchardt (sp?) at #7. He fills a more pressing need for them and won't be there at #15. If we trade with NY, I wouldn't mind us getting Spree and their #7 for our #1 and Rice. We then take Borchardt ourselves and end up with a solid 5 and a great 3 out of the draft. Result: an instant 50-55 win team and depending on how Borchardt matures maybe even a team that can compete with the upper echelon.
Chemistry is a funny thing. You just never know how it's going to play out until you experiment. However, what Spree has shown in NY is that he has a great team attitude and strong desire to win. Add the fact that he possesses attributes that most Rockets don't (the toughness to play in the closing minutes of a game and a willingness to get his nose dirty on defense) and I'd be very pleased to acquire him. Obviously, none of us know what's being offered (this type offer could be on the low-end or high-end of the spectrum), but he's a great player and the combination of Sprewell/Borchardt is a nice #1 pick for a team that only has those two needs.
I would trade Mo, Rice, Cato, Terence, Tierre, Walt, Oscar, Dan, or Jason before I ever traded KT, he's like the 4th best player (him or cuttino or E.G. all a close 2.3.4th best) on the team! HAHAHAHA!!!! HARHARHAR!!!!! HEEHEEHEEHEE!!!
I agree. No way I trade KT. It's obvious from KT's hard work and improvement combined with Mo's lazy "rehab" that KT's the one to stay. By the way, while returning from a conference in Orlando to Atlanta I sat by Doc Rivers. This was about 2 years ago. I asked him what he thought of KT and his potential. Doc was apologetic in stating that he didn't know who KT was. The other day, I saw him being interviewed where he mentioned KT by name and stated that he thought he had a "most improved" kinda year! Way to go, Kenny!
Hmmm...I can't decide if you're joking or not, because surely you understand the problem. First, I want to say I agree with you 100% about Kenny. He is actually the third best player on the team right now, since Griffin is still very young. But... 1.) Couldn't even trade Tierre, Morris, Langhi, Collier, or Oscar for a late 2nd round draft pick. 2.) Mo just came off one of the worst injuries you can get if your a basketball player, it'll be impossible to find a team to take a risk and trade for him without seeing him play after the injury. 3.) Walt is a free agent but also not worth jack in a trade. 4.) Rice is old and expensive. It will be near impossible to move him, especially after pretty much missing the whole season. 5.) Cato is one of the most overpaid players in the NBA. If we're talking about just trading the #15 with one of our current players, Kenny is the only one that holds interest to other teams. Like you said, Kenny is better than all those players you listed, so why would other teams trade for players that suck? You gotta give up something to get something.
I lived in Albuquerque when Kenny Thomas played for the UNM Lobos, so I really like him playing for the Rockets. However, I think of the power forwards we are willing to trade, he has the most trade value. How about KT and the 15 to the Pistons for the rights they have to Memphis' pick next year? That way we would owe Memphis our pick and they would owe us theirs.
