The Magic is still losing after firing Doc River. And I predict they will lose more. The fans will very soon point their finger at TMac. It gives us the chance to sign him.
So since McGrady failed in Orlando...let's bring him over...yea I'm hopping on the lone star bandwagon..
Our backcourt is undersized and very unintelligent. Signing TMac gives us size and lets us get rid of these boneheads.
Why wait? You can never transform a dumbazz into a smarty. Why keeping these boneheads if it is clear they're not going to improve?
How is it clear again, maybe you are dyslexic and reading our record backwards. It's actually 9 and 4 and not 4 and 9. And the Magic, with superstar ball hog who wouldn't pass it to Ming McGrady aren't on a 13 game winning streak, it's a 13 game losing streak. He's also complained and b****ed about Zone defenses and openly pondored retiring.
TMac may be the best all around player in the league WHEN HE IS HEALTHY. He has nagging back problems, may have some attitude issues as Oski2005 pointed out, and is something of a ball hog himself. Francis and Mobley (Moochie is a lost cause) are showing some signs of improvement. Let's play out the year and see what happens. The Rockets don't get it yet, but when they do and start clicking, they could be the surprise of the league. If JVG can't make it happen by playoff time, then personnel changes are a coming for next season, count on it. Right now, I think the current team is about to jell in the next 10-15 games.
gosh, i hate these new ignorant posters. Its lke they post blindly and never see the games, and this is a game after francis dished out 9 assists!!! Sorry man but thats ironic.
*lol* Great post. I was going to same something similar, but couldn't have said it better. To the guy who started the post, though...man, the Rockets are winning @ a time when they're still really trying to find themselves and learn the JVG-system. And they'll only get better; why break that up with a bogus trade idea like that? The Rox are coming together.
D.J. Screw died from drinking too much cough syrup.... T Mac has lung problems.... I like his game, but Mobely and Francis would not be enough to sign him... This will not work- it leaves us weaker.....
This isn't the worst trade ever. TMac and Yao vs. Shaq and Kobe would be the most awesome show on earth. Except then we won't have a point guard. If some how we could get another point guard this would be a cool trade. TMac defers the ball sometimes so I think he and Yao would be OK together. I mean here you're trading a top 20 player and an above average player for a top 5 player, if the magic will do it then I'd do it.
Since you guys pretty much WASTED this idea, I was wondering if we should take a HUGE gamble by trading Cato and MoT for Grant Hill, Andrew Declerq and their choice of Gooden or Howard? If Grant Hill comes back at 85%, he can be that Point-Forward we need, that glue that puts the team together. Obviously, it's a GIGANTIC gamble, but if it works out (and ofcourse we do this on the last day of the deadline) then we're pretty much set. As for his contract, I don't think he makes more per year or in total than MoT and Cato combined. Declerq is final year (I believe), tiny contract, while Gooden or Howard could start for us, and they'd be an upgrade. The Magic have been what they've been without Grant Hill. So their team basically replaces Decerq and their choice of Gooden or Howard, with Kelvin Cato and Maurice Taylor. Gooden and Howard are identical players, and are having trouble co-existing. MoT, however, can play backup C like he did for long stretches in his first season. He would be even more effective in the East. Their team: Cato/Hunter Howard/MoT Giricek/Garritty?/Howard T-Mac Lue/Strickland
Grant Hill??? YUCK!! The dude will never play a full season if he even plays basketball again. I mean its pretty much a given he will have an injury of some sorts EVERY YEAR. Plus he's old. And why would you want someone at 85% anyways?
A 100% Grant Hill is 30/7/7 every night, on great FG% shooting from eevry spot on the floor and getting to the basket. Oh, throw in a huge heart as well. I'd be happy with 18/5/5 with his heart, effort, defense, experience, and smarts.
