Reports coming from PTI (Pardon The Interuption) have Charles Oakley (FA this year) signing with the lakers, and maybe letting Stanislav Medvedenko go.

I think this is likely possible for the lakers, and Mike and Tony like that deal.

Any thoughts on that trade possibility?

ANy other Rumor's out there for other teams/players?

Actually I meant to say, pick up as a Free Agent.

And with Medvadenko's contract running out this year, they'll be no need for him, if Oakley arrives in LA.

Oakley had a 3 yr. deal that ended at the end of this season.

The Lakers can only offer Oakley their MCE (~$4.75m). Would he take the paycut from his last years salary of ~$7.5m?

The Lakers are headed into Luxury Tax land with or without Oakley. They already have ~$52.2m committed for 7 roster spots not counting their first round pick.

How would the Oakley rumor affect you if you were Samaki Walker and had a player option for ~$1.5m which needed to be excercised prior to July 1st?

Close but not exact. He said they both probably won't be here in 2 seasons, which is true.

First of all, let me get my traditional Oakley bashing out of the way. Charles Oakley is a sorry sack of crap and I hope he never gets a ring. Anyway I can see Oakley signing with the Lakers on the cheap. He already got his big contract. But if the Lakers sign him, that's all the more reason to upset the Lakers in the playoffs!

Didn't Oakley hit Shaq in the head at some point this season?

wasn't he the one that nailed Shaq, not Brad Miller?

I can't see him playing for the Lakers

He probably will go to the Lakers to get his ring. Every other old power forward did. Grant, Rodman, Walker, and now Oakley. And about the hitting. He was taking turns gaurding Shaq along with Brad Miller. They kept fouling him and then one time down, he went up for a layup and both Miller and Oakley grabbed his arms and brought him down. Miller was the first one Shaq saw so he went after him with the roundhouse punch.

Will the Lakers have to carry two roster spots? One for Oakely and one for the enormous fork sticking out of his back?

Seriously, the guy hasn't been even a decent NBA player since the late 90's, he's slow, doesn't bang anymore, and just stands on the perimeter jacking up his crappy jumper. Plus, he has the gall to call out one of his teammates on the same night he got continually abused by Tyrone Hill, or some other so-so power forward.

And if I was the Rockets I would counter that with Moochie and KT for Odom. Or Moochie, KT and #15 for Odom. I would think that this deal would be better than Snow for Odom. (which of course I don't see happening at all!)

Ummm...Samaki Walker's old? I guess..If you call 26 old then he qualifies. Try again.

I guess I meant, every washed up power forward. And yea I consider Walker washed up because he never really got to the top of his potential in Dallas and I bet that most people would think he was 36 rather than 26.
