Probably just some voices in the crowd that would make that argument. Most people wouldn't have wanted Gasol due to age, and would have realized that the Lakers would never take Lin and Asik after getting Howard and Nash.
Where is the multiple sources, Chris Broussard? Terrible trade. Hell no! Let Gasol and his 20 million contract be the Faker's problem!
Hmm, why would we do this trade when we could just murder all of the players on the Rockets and blow up the Toyota Center instead?
Hi. I live in la. Don't want to fly to houston to watch Lin come off the bench. Rather watch Lin come off the bench for Steve Blake (or Jordan farmer or magic Johnson, who ever plays guard for them)
No definitely not. But to trade Asik for Gasol at this point in their careers would certainly be foolish.
I agree with you. This is a stupid thread however, you're taking this forum too seriously. Do you feel you are entitled to something because you've been a member of an Internet website for the past decade? Lol get a life, dude. Add me to your "ignore" list as well. It'll be an honor lol.
It's your thread, why don't you tell us why it would be a good trade? Apart from the fact we lose two starting caliber players for one who, while still being a very good player, is on the tail end of his career and injury prone, the fact that we lose one of the leagues top defensive & rebounding centres for a mediocre defender with a massive contract. Add to that the fact that you don't want any other Laker near this team...where do you see the benefit? It's your thread, explain yourself before the ban hammer drops for not posting this in the 'Trade idea's thread.'
Gasol even now is a top 7 center in the NBA. He was just wasted at power forward by the Lakers. Do not sell a probable HOF member short. Especially one with two rings that is as dominant as Gasol is at center.
