Is it possible to do a 3 team trade where:

Atlanta does a sign and trade sending Nazr to Denver along with d Johnson
Houston does a sign and trade sending SA to Atlanta along with Cato
and Denver sends Raef and (here is where there is major $$$$ questions) someone to houston?....just wondering...it seems like this would solve alot of problems for all 3 teams!

    steviefranchise,

I am by no means a CBA expert. aelliot, heypartner, NIKEstrad and often crispee have it down better than I do. But here's a good start point.

    1) The Rockets are over the cap until something is done with Dream (renounced or re-signed). Without being too technical, they can't take in +/- 15% of their send and receive values.

    2) Trades involving Kelvin Cato are difficult because he is classified as BYC (Base Year Contract) player. I won't elaborate nere, just go to RealGM.com and do some research.

    3) I believe if the Rockets renounce Dream, Cato's BYC status is removed.

    4) Shandon & Nazr are unrestricted FA'S and have to agree to the trade. If it favors them $wise, they might do it. Considering Shandon is slated for less than $3.0 from the Rockets and Nazr wants a big bump from his last contract of 739k...maybe..

Biggest obstacle to your trade. The Nuggets are near capped out and are only sending out
$3,755,142 while receiving $2,265,240 for DerMarr PLUS the bump that Nazr is expecting. I'm pretty sure his market value is more than the difference between Raef and DerMarr's contract. So in this case, the trade doesn't benefit Nazr and I doubt if he says "OK".

Nice try, though. I'm a big Raef fan and would love to see him as a Rocket.
