Off season trade, if things aren't going too well I don't think trading mobley or Francis will do the trick. I think they won't fetch their value on their market, however Yao Ming may fetch far more than what hes worth. We can dump Rice's contract and MoT's as well so here it goes Yao Ming + Nachbar + Rice + Collier for Golden States Antawn Jamison + Dunleavy + Arenas + T.Murphy We get a tough inside and rebound presence with Jamison, a very good future player with Dunleavy, a good point guard and a good back up power forward. Also, we drop Posey to the market so that leaves houston with Arenas/Mooch francis/Mobley/Hawkins Dunleavy/Griffin Jamison/ MoT Cato/T.Murphy What do guys think? Yao Ming would be in heaven in golden state due to large asian population there. Alot of people in the bay area would flock to go see Ming there so GS profits too. The rockets will have a pass first guard running the point with Francis at the 2. Basically, the Rockets are getting rid of heavy contracts for some talent. The only catch is that the Rockets have to part with Ming.

Which one would you keep? Steve is 25 and hes averaged 21 points throughout his career with 42% shooting. Hes a good shooter, extremely athletetic and has one of the best 1-1 games. Yao is just 22 and one of the most popular NBA players ever! Albiet he has chinese government on his back and his communication skills aren't that well honed yet. Hes a team player and has a good touch.
Are you serious? Okay assuming you're serious. Have you ever really watched Arenas and Jamison play? Because your description of them is laughable and far from my impression and general public opinions of them. Arenas's by no means a pass 1st PG. He likes to shoot as much as Steve Francis. Jamsion is also not a tough inside and rebound presence. He likes to shoot outside jumper more than everything and is a weak rebounder. Bascially a better version of Mo Taylor.
I've been a lifelong Rockets fan and watch every game. If we traded Yao I would never watch the Rockets again.
On talen alone i dont think that would be a good trade. But the popularity of Yao you cant pass him to someone like any player out there. He is going to make the Rockest too much money.
Look, just be realistic. There. Is. No. Way. In. Hell. That. The. Rockets. Would. Trade. YAO MING. The Rockets would trade Francis before Yao. Apologies to the pro-Francis crowd, but we can find a better PG easier (Steve is a converted SG) than we can find a better (and more team-profitable) center.
Apart from the insanity of trading away a #1 pick into their 2nd season.... 1) More championships have been won with dominant low post play the S1P2 PG's. 2) The Warriors players are looking better than they actually are because of their coach. Musselman has achieved the "sum is greater than the parts" level while Rudy has possibly done the opposite. 3) Why risk helping a playoff spot rival?
The rockets will never trade Yao Ming. Yao is like a gold mine to them. What they earn from Yao is more than winning a few games.
