Since Cleveland was duped by Carlos Looser, and are currently in need of a PF would anyone object to the following trade scenarios? Houston trades: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 27.8 minutes) Houston receives: PG Kevin Ollie (4.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.9 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Dajuan Wagner (6.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 16.1 minutes) C Tony Battie (5.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: +4.8 ppg, +3.2 rpg, and +3.5 apg. Cleveland trades: PG Kevin Ollie (4.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.9 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Dajuan Wagner (6.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 16.1 minutes) C Tony Battie (5.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.2 minutes) Cleveland receives: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 75 games) Change in team outlook: -4.8 ppg, -3.2 rpg, and -3.5 apg.
Hell yeah the Rockets would do that! But no other team would. No way the Cavs give up that much to get an underachieving Mo-T. Also, Mo-T was our best bench player last year...you don't want to get rid of him when our depth is probably at an all time low already. Okay, that was contridictory but some people think cucumbers taste better pickled.
I like the talent exchange, but I have a hard time fathoming that Cleveland would give up 3 for 1-- especially when they are on the verge of losing Boozer and picking up nothing in exchange except space.
Sorry, I don't know what GARM is... Anyway, I think this would work out favorably for both teams. More so for the Rocks, but who's complaining? (Cleveland fans, maybe.) For the Rockets, we get another reliable PG, a back up 2 Guard, who could play PG, and a nice back up Center meanwhile losing Mo-T's salary. For Cleveland, they need to atleast make up for Boozer's defection. And in the East, Mo-T could be at least as good as Boozer, probably better. Mo-T would definately soften the sting of the whole Boozer debacle.
I think your over-estimating MoT. 3 for 1! Maybe if the Rockets part with Pike or Griffin, Cavs would maybe go for it. Not sure that I like us getting two more pg's though. Especially considering that would really leave us with 4 backup-quality pg's.
i posted a similar trade earlier on another thread. check it out http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80424
GARM = Game Action & Roster Moves forum. It's where Rockets-related conversation (in general) should go.
The Cavs have 3 Centers (Z, Battie and Diop) and (without Boozer) little to no firepower at PF. I'd have to think Mo T for Battie and Kevin Ollie would interest them. (It works capwise). The thing to remember about CLE is that Ilguaskas is in the last year of his contract in 2004-05 and if there is an upscale SF or PG available next summer, the Cavs have a chance to resign Z to a more reasonable contract and augment Z, Taylor and LeBron for the price of Battie and Ollie with the capspace Z's new contract allows. I'd have to think that would be tempting. Eric Williams re-signed + change might be a possibilty as well. If we could turn Mo T and change into Eric Williams and Battie, CD gets my vote for GM of the Year.
Well, if he gives him a reach around, I certainly hope for his sake he doesn't "pull that off". That would be very painful.
I am not sure if anyone noticed but Sean Deveney from Sporting News is reporting that the Cavs are trying to shop Wagner as a PG to try and lure a PF. Again, Battie and Wagner for Mo-T?
Offer of MoT for Ollie and Battie and the TE for Wms and two future #1's and Cavs could resign Boozer. Boozer and Mo together at the 4? In some line ups on the court together with CB as a 5.
I said Wagner was going to suck and so far I'm right. The Cavs could have had Nene or Amare instead of that scrub.
