Rockets: Shane Battier / 2nd round pick

Incoming: Anthony Parker / S&T Jose Calderon

    Line-up:

    C: Yao Ming
    PF: Louis Scola
    SF: Tracy McGrady
    SG: Anthony Parker
    PG: Jose Calderon

Why for Rockets? They get a solid 2-guard who can help the Rockets spread the floor. they get a solid PG who can help the Rockets into better ball-movement.

Why for Raptors? They get a solid SF and a position they lack with a Battier they get someone who can defend the best star's and is better at spreading the floor then Jamario Moon.

    Agree(e) Disagree;?

    Disagreed.

The Raptors are kinda in a rebuilding mode right now, as opposed to a win-now mode.

Bosh is still pretty young, so it'll take about 2-3 years before they can even dream about reaching the ECF.

Besides, Moon is better than Batman offensively, and what would they do with the second round pick?

For BOTH Parker AND JC, we will need to give Batman, probably both round picks, and an expiring.

I will not give up 4 players for 1 good one, and one subpar one.

I have no problem with this but Colangelo will have a fit when he hears about it. This idea or variants of it have been mentioned before in other threads. I appreciate your input.

Whoops, my first post was a little confusing.

If I were Morey, I would do this immediately.

But, like DD posted, Colangelo must be on the hard stuff if HE pulled the trigger.

That's a great trade from the Rockets point of view. I don't see the motivation for Toronto.

They need a 3 bad. plus it won't hurt to have veteran presence in that position in the locker-room and someone Bosh can trust to hit the 3-pointer when the double team comes at him.

I'd trade Anthony Parker for his sister. :D

Keep Battier. However, if there were a way to get Calderon without giving up Yao, T-Mac, Scola or Battier...

That's what i was thinking. Besides the being the best looking WNBA player she is a beast. Of course that wouldn't translate to the NBA but it would be funny to see her playing in a game.

Wouldn't they create a hole at point and two guard with this move?

Good point - we beter include Alston and Head and they send back Moon.

Wait - if they're rebuilding, what about we send them Landry too and take Bosh off their hands?

    You're thoughts?

Rockets: Aaron Brooks / Carl Landry / 2nd round pick
    or
Rockets: Aaron Brooks / Luis Scola / 2nd round pick

    for

Raptors: Anthony Parker / S&T Jose Calderon

And whatever else needed to balance out the trade. Would it be enough to pry Calderon from the Raptors? Probably not. And should we want to do it? I'd say yes.

Toronto would never do it, but it would be a great trade for the Rox.

Battier hasn't been able to knock them down well enough on quite a few occasions even with Yao and Tracy.Don't let that opening season game winner fool you. Their defense can improve but Battier doesn't fit in the Raptors Phoenix-Lite system. They could simply pick Pietrus who isn't anywhere as smart as Shane but he can defend 2 guards well and is athletic. Parker's shooting with his defense can help them out even if they don't get a locker room presence.

Perhaps Morey could swap our #25 plus $1M cash to New Jersey for their #21. That seems doable if there are no players the Nets really want is there at #21.
