With T-Mack bad back, and the possibility of having that problem through the rest of his career, I think pairing Yao and O'Neal would fit well Van Gundy's slow down half court system. Jackson is a good outside shooter, all the rockets need is signing decent role pg and sf.

I disagree. Tracy, when healthy is a far better player than either ONeal or Jackson. We at least need to give him a chance to recuperate and come back healthy before even thinking about trading him. In any case, Jermaine hasn't proved to be exactly a model of health/consistency either. He has also spent extended amounts of time being injured. Additionally, he has not shown the leadership qualities and skills required to bring his team together.

As for Jackson, he's garbage IMO. Utter garbage. Streaky, inconsistent, selfish et al.

First, they always say whoever gets the best player in the trade gets the better deal (See 2004 Houston Rockets-Orlando Magic trade). T-Mac is the best player in the trade. The only way this would be a good deal for the Rockets is if T-Mac is unhealthy. And if T-Mac is unhealthy, there is no way the Pacers give up O'neal.

Second, Stephen jackson is F***ing crazy. In my opinion he was the craziest guy in the whole Palace brawl, and that is saying a lot.

i would trade Tracy for Jameer neilson and dewight howard. howard is gonna be the next big pf of the nba. kids a beast. neilson is showing how good he is. would'nt it be ironic if tracy endedup back in orlando.?... other then that, i see no real viable trade options.

I wouldn't give up an deadly inside-out game for a two dominant big men lineup. Yao and Tmac are the perfect compliments to each other.

JO is quite injury prone himself. Like Rocketforever posted, TMac and Yao are perfect compliments to each other. We just need to get them on the court at the same time.

I can see where you are coming from and I think that you are being realistic in your view but O'Neil's performance has dropped off a little since his last injury.
Although I now notice that in his last three games he went 27pts 12rbs.

Eh, I don't like the idea. I think a healthy T-Mac would work much better with a dominant Yao rather than a twin towers arrangement. Yes, twin towers can work, but it is much more common and easy to have an inside-outside threat. Besides, JO is injury prone, and Stephen Jackson is erratic.

I don't like this idea at all... O'neal is as injury-proned as T-mac, Jackson is inconsistent. Horrible deal for the Rockets. T-mac will be back and better than ever! have faith

The reason I wouldn't do it is because Yao works better on his own. Meaning when he has the ball 1 on 1 against a defender in the key and he is on his own, he's not someone you can really stop.

I would rather have T-Mac's 23+ foot range spreading out the D than Jermaine O'Neal's ~20 foot range. That, and the myriad of things T-Mac can do that Jermaine O'Neal can't.

That's why I think the inside outside game works better than the two towers with Yao. Besides, Yao is two towers on his own. :p

If you HAVE to trade T-Mac, then trade him for good, quality players, not All-Stars. The last thing this team needs is another all-star, that still leaves the huge imbalance that we currently have.

We should try getting a better supporting cast before we try to get rid of one of our superstars (McGrady).
