Tracy Mcgrady, Aaron Brooks, and Carl Landry
    For
    Amar'e Stoudmire and Leandro Barbosa

Why the Rockets Do it: we get the speed were looking for and the explosiveness in Amar'e and we get a player who can create his own shot better than half the rockets roster in Barbosa.

Why Phoenix Does it: they get a potential all-star and young blood in an aging suns, and an athletic and young forward with defensive potential in Landry. then you get a veteran all star who when on court can create shots and and score points.

Then we sign and trade Von Wafer
Give Minny Wafer, Barry, Battier and a Future Draft Pick for Rubio and filler.

Why Rockets Do it: we get the tall athletic point guard who can make plays and make shots, someone to run RA offense.

Why Minny Does it: they can now start flynn, and not worry about rubio wanting to leave next season, they get a rising star in wafer who can probably start as a SG,and a veteran presence and shooter in barry. this is what they are looking for as they have a good frontcourt, so they need someone who can bank shots.

    Then the Rockets

    Re-sign artest.

*i wonder if we can throw in brian cook in the pheonix deal for ben wallace, seeing how yao went down.

    so our line-up would be

    Pg rubio/lowry
    Sg Barbosa/artest/taylor/budinger
    Sf artest/stoudamire/budinger
    Pf Scola/Stoudamire/Dorsey
    C Yao/Hayes/(wallace)

this can be a realistic trade and we get people who can lead a team as yao went down

minnesota turned down wilson chandler and the 8th pick for Rubio...they already turned down brooks/battier. Rockets are not getting rubio for the package you have.

why wouldnt they turn down brooks and battier, they have enough point guards as it is. think about it, my proposition is better than what they gave them, they have about 4 pg and no real shootin guards, battier can play sf and sg and wafer is sg, and barry can play pg/sg. this will also allow minny to be more flexible in trades.

von is a FA. they can sign him if they want to, without needing a trade from the rockets. a sign and trade is not adding value unless you're signing and trading someone proven, and of at least star caliber. otherwise the increased years and money are a negative, not a positive.

can we get the suns to throw in ben wallace in the amar'e deal for brian cook?

and can you imagine chuck and wallace in the front court, may not be any scoring, but god damnit, no one is going to be able to score on us.

Realistic? If the deal for amare was interesting the phoenix they would have accepted when we offered it.

Minny knows we REALLY want Rubio. Ball is in their court.

Morey's going to have to give up more than he wants to if he wants to land Rubio.

Its funny when I see people make suggestions for Rubio. I am pretty confident you guys haven't seen much of Rubio. There is little reason to believe Aaron Brooks wont have the better career. Morey's ability to evaluate raw basketball skill and talent is debatable, for Rubio there are few solid statistics. The stats he does have are bad. And Morey has openly stated that some kind of statistical system that could evaluate foreign talent would be the next big thing, meaning, he doesn't have it.

So why Rubio? If that Amare trade goes down Houston is a MLE PG away from being a top 5 team. Then you add Yao down the road and you are in contention. But if you trade everything for Rubio what exactly are you doing? Reducing yourself to a crappy incarnation of the run n gun Phoenix Suns?

The Minny GM is absolutely adoring all the attention he's getting and is in no mood to give away his prized toy.

It would probably take T Mac, Brook, and an unprotected pick to seal the deal and that's too much.

As for Amare, I don't think he's the real deal. Too many question marks about him, especially his health.

No, the Rockets should be focused on two things, the 2010 lottery and Bosh.

Forgot the most important part of the deal, Rockets also pay Minnesota $30 million. Morey did say that a lottery pick could be purchased, just that it hasn't been done before, wouldn't guess what it would cost.

Wafer can play, but he's no future star by any stretch as you indicate.

And yeah, Rubio isn't proven yet, but this would essentially be Mike Miller and Randy Foye for Battier, Wafer, Barry, and some scrubs from Washington.

Seems like a lateral move AT BEST for Minnesota

Again another dream world trade scenario where other team gets fleeced.

No way we get Rubio for Battier and scrubs.

Why sign and trade Von when Minny can sign him outright?
