What do you think?? Coleman has been in trouble since he left Syracuse-Jim B. is a real diciplinarian. Coleman has skills, but is a cancer and lazy wherever he goes. I do think he is in better health than Glen Rice, however I do not know how their slaries match up.... Coleman is a total loser, but I do think Philadelphia might take Rice for him.... I guess this just reflects my opinion of the value that Rice has to this team- drawing 9.5 mil per year and contributing nothing but draining the available salary under the cap. What do you guys think?? Is there another problem player you would be wiling to take on with a short contract to dump Rice??
This should be in the Rockets forum, not the NBA dish. I don't know much about Coleman, but I'm fine with Rice. Even him he can't hit open shots anymore, his contract will be gone in 2 years, I think. Besides, if healthy, he'd probably be better for the Rockets. JMO.
There's plenty...the problem is there aren't any teams willing to put themselves in the hole 9 million.
Pardon me RC Cola. I was thinking of Derrick Coleman and put it in this forum. You are right -Rice contract is over in 2 years and even if we buy out the contract - it still counts against the cap. So you are probably right - keep him - pay him - smile and wait 2 years..... This is ridiculous that all we got from Hakeem 's contract completion i.e.- the room we got under the cap-9,5 mil worth is expended on a broke down player who will contribute nothing. Sorry again for putting this in the wrong forum. Thanks for pointing that out....
correction: the last thing we need on this team is a blind chimpanzee that has no arms, and takes up $90 billion worth of salary cap space. another power forward is prob the 2nd last thing this team needs.
The last thing we need on the board is someone making a racist comment about anyone. No, we don't need another power forward like Coleman; his contract is as bad or worse than Rice's is to boot. A change of scenery wouldn't really help either, as both are playing about as productively as can be expected given full health. But there's no need to make comments like the one above, no matter your opinion on the subject.
I think it is the right forum. Not that I have the final say or anything, but I've seen plenty of trade possibilities on here. (i.e. "roster moves")
TBar was obviously thinking about getting rid of Glen Rice without knowing that he had 2 years left on his contract. DC is not needed on the team and is actually injured as well as he won't be back till November. TBar we also got the 15th pick this year by trading Hakeem and picked up Nachbar.
wtf??? dude, i wasn't referring to anybody. i was simply tryin to be funny in saying that the last thing we needed was something that would in no way improve the team. ??? man, i'm not a racist type guy.
if you want coleman, then why dont you go after kemp? he's a better player and is certianly cheaper now?bother are troubled but very talented childs, who can be very good when they put there minds into it.
I agree, I didn't see this as racist at all. I found it funny, but I didn't think it refered to any race at all. If evolution is correct, we all came from chimps, no matter what race we are. B
It'd be like trading gambling addiction (spending a lot of money for nothing) for cocaine addiction (spending a lot of money for something that hurts your health).
Sheesh......some of us want to cry racism at every damn thing. Anyways, I honestly can not think of another player who would be worse then Coleman for our team. -Another power forward -Over the hill -BIG time cancer -Takes up alot of cap space
Coleman is just the type of Player the Rox try to avoid just like Odom from the Clips. If we could get rid of Rice it should be for a player that can grow with our young team.
We definitely don't need another power foward.Eddie is about to start his run and then there are Kenny and Mne of which probably will get dealt.I could see trading Rice if the right deal came up(a player that can D up at the 2 and 3 among other things),but I don't want DC on this team, even though he is playing better.Ever since he left Syracuse where he would star on Big Monday's,he's been a Jake.Rice comes off the cap soon and should be the most healthy he's been in years. At the very least,he gives us a dead eye shooter w/the ability to post up a bit.Rice's days of beating his man off the dribble and being an unbelievable offensive force might be over, but on the other hand, whatever's left in the tank,we'll get,if Glen's healthy....and then the aforementioned caproom.
Rice has enough game for what this organization wants him to do. If he can stay injury free, I still believe GR can contribute. Believe me guys, GR is a great dude, no attitude and will return a phone call from a fan. I share in your pain, he truly hasn't done much but I still believe that we haven't heard the last of the good things from Glen Rice. Bookmark this, and get at me in November!
