As a long time browser without posts, I am sure I will be bashed for this, but it seems as thought Spree could be a great fit for this team. The position we are hurting the most at is two guard, and he could give us a scoring option and definsive intesity. We could also probably resolve our logjam at the 4 by trading MoT or KT to the Knicks. Any Takers? I am no GM so I dont know who we would have to give up to make it work, but we definetely have some guys the knicks could use (or at least players that Layden thinks they could use).

Hmmmm....I don't think that's a good idea. Spree is a DAMN good player but I think trading for him would bring more harm than good. As a player of his caliber, he would demand at least 20 shots a game. This will take away Steve Francis's status as team leader and turn him into a 2nd rate player like Alan Houston. Houston was a scrub compared to spree when spree was healthy last year.

I don't know why people are thinking we need to make a change in personell to win. All I see is that Rudy is being wack right now. All that needs to be changed is for Rudy to be a man and punish players who do bad and reward those who do well instead of just sticking with a predetermined status for every player regardless of how he does. As soon as that happens, we'll see progress. I don't want to see him make someone go from starter to DNPCD (griff) in two games. That is really weak sauce.

One deal might make sense for both teams: Kurt Thomas for Troy Murphy and Danny Fortson."

how exactly are we hurting most at 2 guard? we have mobley who is sprewell with a better personality at a cheaper price. i'm sorry if you guys think mobley doesnt pass a lot i think yall should just look at avg assists for 2 guards in the league. mobley is a good 3pt shooter, great at driving to the basket, clutch player, great guy for the community, and we are only paying him like 31 million over 6 years i think which is great. we are hurting most at forward if you want to complain about anything. so how about we trade glen rice, nachbar, and MoT for paul pierce or maybe TMac?

Rice+Mot+Nochbar for Pierce or T-Mac? You are joking right? That would never go down.

We have enough offense on this team in Steve, Yao, Rice and Taylor. Why trade for another dominant scorer?

What we need is solid role players. Hopefully, some of the guys on this team will accept their bench role. If not, the only trades I would make would be for role players.

    Houston trades:
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.1 apg in 18.7 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (5.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 22.9 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (7.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.9 minutes)

    Houston receives:
PG Charlie Ward (11.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.5 apg in 29.2 minutes)
SF Latrell Sprewell (18.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.8 apg in 38.3 minutes)

Change in team outlook: +13.1 ppg, -7.9 rpg, and +4.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

I would do this trade. We would get rid of three long contracts for two short contracts. Spree could play backup SG and starting SF. We need another ball handler, defender. I just wish he was a good passer.

Spree has a good character for the first couple years. He goes south after the third year.
