It's time to get real, to propose a trade benefitting both teams which could work.

    The Knicks:
    -need to get taller
    -need an inside D presence
-need to get help for McD and/or to replace him if he just cannot come back
    -reportedly covet EG
-have stated they will look to trade the #9 pick (unless they hit LottoLuck)

    The Rox:
    -need to upgrade the 4
-need to lighten their aggregate Bench salary
-have apparently given up on EG
    -have given up on Mooch

The deal, and it is close to salary cap perfection (a minor player tweak or so and Voila!):

    Rox send:
    Cato
    EG
Mooch (to give him a new start)

    Knicks send:
    KThomas (to start at 4, b/u 5)
Witherspoon (to give him yet another new start)
    #9

Rox send two assets, receive two assets. Clarence is 'cheaper' for the Bench than Cato/Mooch and might help some (as opposed to Mooch who is just fun to be around OFF the court). Both teams discard the discardable which helps to pretty much even out salaries.

Both rosters rebalance themselves and help both teams.
Both teams still have plenty of room to maneuver throughout the summer.

Let's see if the Knicks will fall for the lottery pick trade for injured player scam again. It's worth a shot.

    Duh. I would accept......because I'm a Rocket.

BUT NEW YORK WOULD SAY HADES NO!!

    Are you kidding?

    Kelvin Cato....yeah they want.

Moochie?!?!? haha! Eddie????? well he still has some value.

Kurt Thomas is a good, solid, veteran....I like him....he's a little better than average.

    Witherspoon? Who cares!

#9 Draft Pick...I would love that....but yeah. Why would they give that up???

And Antonio McDyess does not seem to be recovering soon.

    Of course...plenty of ideas!

He will be moved along with Eddie Griffin, Terence Morris, Kelvin Cato, and a 1st Round Draft Pick for Elton Brand and Quentin Richardson! :D

Why do we want to keep adding young talent over adding vet. via trades/sign and trade deals...

Getting to #9 wouldn' t put us in position for any great player...
After James, Melo and Milic there aren't any sure bets...

I wouln't call either of those 3 sure bets either... They are all young and will need a year or 2 before they are up there with the top players...

I want to add vet. and if we draft a player in the 2nd round... How about adding a senior player that has experience on the college level... Its better than not going to College or only having one season of College B-ball...

Kurt Thomas is a young, unproven talent? He would upgrade the 4 over EG and the #9 over Cato? Works for me if I'm a Knick or a Rock.

    Who doesn't win with this?

Why would NY do this? This still doesn't get rid of the Taylors crazy contract. Why would ny want norris long contract when they already have Eisley. If they were smart, they stand pat and draft the brazillian pg or the best big man availiable which mightbe Kaman. They could also go aftre a guy like mihm to maybe stop the bleeding for a little while> i still think he's going to be a good center in this league 15ppg 10rebs type of guy. That situation in cleveland just really sucks.

That's a good and realistic trade.Don't worry Xiki,u'll get bad answers cozhalf of the board think we have a chance at Brand.
I have been thinking of a trade with NY for awhile too.
With the pick we can draft a good PG(Leandrinho or Hinrich) while getting a solid veteran at the 4.
That also leaves us with Mobley as trade bate(for say...Crawford?!:D )
There's only one thing that bother's me: Doc said we were going after a PF in the west...
Too bad I would have love a trade like this.:(

One other thing, does this work salary-wise?
Instead of Moochie(not sure they'll take him+he's got a big contract) can't we put somebody else?

    Appreciate your (both) comments.

Rox may be targeting a West 4, but ... targets and gets are not always the same thing.
Mooch to NY instead of, say Taylor? This is a 'let's wash out of guys' part of the deal to make salaries even out. Knicks don't want Mooch, Rox don't want Clarence. But they are necessary 'evils' and maybe new environs will make them beauties (yeah, right).
