The Hawks won't trade him for T-Mac. If he plays well next season, they'll simply match whatever he fetches on the market next offseason.

 

Where does it say we can't go over the luxury threshold for a couple of seasons?

T-Mac makes like 8.5 mill more than Joe Johnson. It would be hard to get that trade done.

We may not have the cap room when mcgrady goes off the books, but the hawks might. I havent checked so I dont know for sure, but if they do, and they know that there is a chance JJ leaves, I could see them trading him.

That makes some sense, but I still don't see ATL doing it.

 

If they do have enough cap space to where Macs contract actually means 23 mill for FAs, I can see them doing it closer to the deadline. But thats a big IF.

 

What were Tracy's numbers in last season's playoffs?
