Now if Vince Carter would just get hurt that #1 might be worth something [IMG].

Channel 26 makes this town's other television sports division look second rate once again.

    Mark Berman rocks.

The trade exception is automatic, as they are at/over the cap and took on more salary than they gave back.

And the BBS has NOT crashed yet! *fingers crossed* [IMG]

I'm surprised in the end that he actually went, but it's just as well... if he's going to show that kind of greed and ego, he can take them somewhere else. Yet another aging athlete who can't accept that he's just not worth, financially, what he used to be. If it had been anyone else on any other team, Houston fans wouldn't have sympathized with him for a long time.

The championships will never be forgotten... now on with the rebuilding!

It looks like Toronto will get their very own Scottie Pippen.

Pole, that is taking it to the extreme! Dream may be a lot of things but he is and never was a Scottie Pippen!

I'm sure most of Chicago was sad to see him go...and most of us were happy to get him.

A season from now, Toronto will feel the same way we did when Scottie blamed others for his own screwups.

Whoa, Pole. That is out of line. Hakeem was his own man. Scottie never was or will be. We have many great memories of Hakeem and none of Pippen. I realize everyone is pissed, I am a bit myself, but Hakeem was not going to take us to the finals. Let him go and be glad we got something that we might say one day "hey, if they had not gotten that 1st round pick for Hakeem, we would not have gotten so-and-so in another seemingly lopsided trade"

I think Toronto will have a rude awakening when they see how durable Dream is now.

    Love ya, Dream
    Goodbye

How many titles did Scottie Pippen lead his team to? 0

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Hakeem including anger for the way that I perceived him handling this off-season but I can never compare him to Pippen.

Les didn't say. He just said that it was a first round and a second round pick (didn't even say what year). He also said that Hakeem requested it, and that it would be odd for him as Hakeem has been with the Rockets since he bought them. It was one of those over the phone/file photo jobs like the other day with Fegan, but it sounded like Les was reading from a prepared statement.

Hakeem did incredible things for the city of Houston. He was without a doubt, the greatest legend in the history of Houston sports. Without him, the Rockets would never have won a championship.

It hurts a lot to see him go and to see the way he has spurned the city, but I don't get why everyone has to trash him now. You gotta realize this is a business and while I don't agree with his decision, I respect his right to choose to change employers.

I wonder if all the negative "Hakeem sucks" threads would say the opposite had Dream decided to sign with Houston. I'm sure most of those posters would be praising Hakeem, rather than ripping on him.

Maybe I'm just numb, since I live in Seattle and have seen some incredible athletes defect from here....

I actually think that despite how wrong it will feel to see him in another uniform, this break is the best thing for the team. If we're true Rockets fans, I think we should praise Hakeem for everything he's done for us, but we should also be extremely excited for the future of this team.

I dislike Pippen as much as the next guy, but he was a key guy on those 6 championship Bulls teams. Without Pippen, Jordan doesn't win a championship, or at the most wins 1 or 2.

Would you guys have rather got a 1st rounder, or a player (say, Keon Clark)? I wouldn't know if it would still work salary wise though....

Thanks for the memories, Dream. I can't wait for the response when the Rockets retire your #34.
