I see this team as a team that needs a major shake up mid season to get the most of its players and situation.
After last year, over 50 wins and looking well on its way to contend, they have been in a bad streak of .500 basketball since thanksgiving.
I know that the new coach and players have and need time to get used to the newness of it all but in the west, The Rockets need to start hitting those 6-8 game winning streaks a couple of times very soon or the season will go down hill very soon.

    I think that if they:
    (1) make a move at PG (a real PG) to direct this team
    (2) start Scola at PF
    (3) Use Francis a little more as a instant offense guy of the bench

I know that they are talking about Williams here in Miami but I would really make a run at Kidd or Bibby. I know that the $$$ will have to be resolved but if it can be done, those players can make this team will be great.
Bibby or Kidd can restart, reload!! look at the Celtics.

Yao needs help and I think Scola is ready and Mcgrady needs somebody to help him move the ball around.

    A Rocket Team like this:
    Scola/Hayes/Landry
    Battier/Novak
    Ming/Mutombo
    Mcgrady/Wells
    KIDD/BIBBY(pg)/Francis/Head

Use Alston, James or Brooks and/or Picks to make it happen.

I hope that something can be done soon to stop this underacheiving team get on track and be the 3rd or 4th seeded team where it belongs.
Even if its for a couple of years, its time to pull the trigger now.

I dont think that we will be able to land Bibby or Kidd with Alston, Brooks etc. Other teams like Miami, Lakers etc. have better to offer, so why would they take our offer. For Kidd, we atleast need to give up Battier or T-Mac ( I dont want him to be trade).

I dont think that we will make a big trade this season. We will have to put things together with these players and try to win it. I believe that we can do it.

ROFL....is that your way of telling him that his post sucks?

I doubt Kidd is an option because of his salary being almost the same as Tmac's. Bibby is a possibility because his salary is closer to Yao's, so a few players could be put together to make it happen. But, they say the Maloof's won't trade to an Adelman team, so that's probably out too along with Artest...unless it's a three team trade that really helps the Kings.

we have so many pg and we still want kidd? after we got kidd then trade most of other pg?
and do you really think that Bibby is better than T-mac? you must be crazy, but if trade Tmac for Bibby and Artest will be ok

No need for sarcasm, Im just observing what’s happening in the league and what opportunities that might exist out there for the Rockets.
Similar to New England Patriots getting Randy Moss for a 4th round choice.

You hear of disgruntle players and maybe you can get one of them.

Bottom line, this team with its players doesn’t seem to play well together. Something has to change.

Thats All, no big deal RELAX.

If my post is that bad, sorry.

Hey, I hope you didn't take offense to my joke at the other poster. I like the idea of getting Bibby or Kidd as you suggested, although I don't think they can happen. But if they could and we keep Yao and Tmac, Im all for either one! Im with ya bro!

We have much bigger problems now then Reefer. But the only way we might compete this year is with some major shake up. If we can get Kidd here that would be great.

There is no way the Rockets could get Bibby without offering Shane Battier.

If Sacramento would go for that, I think you have to make that deal.

Bibby has the potential to be that third scorer the Rockets have been searching for.

Yeah, it would be nice to get Bibby for Battier....but I doubt the Kings would do it. Battier and Artest also play the same position. So can we also give them the say Alston, Mike James, Snyder, Novak, Luther, Chuck and/or Landry for Artest? :D

I would love a starting lineup of :

    Bibby
    Tmac
    Artest
    Scola
    Yao

Now we are talking baby! :D  :D  :D

I would only have a handfull of players that I wouldn't trade.

    T-Mac, unless you get Kobe
Yao, Obviously no matter how good or bad you think he's for this team, he's a big money maker.
Scola, I think he's going to be a big boost for this team the more he gets comfortable.
    Brooks, future point guard.
    Deke, he's retiring

Everyone else is trade bait as far as I'm concerned. Rafer, Luther, James, Francis have really stunk it up and as much as Rafer may have improved, he's not starting material. Battier was a good trade for a VanGundy team, but he's showing that he's not as good under Rick. Bonzi is up and down, Chuck's never good offensivly unless T-Mac is on the floor and he's starting to mess that up too since he forgot how to catch passes. Landry and Synder never see playing time.

We've got pieces for a trade, but I don't know if it would get someone like Bibby or Kidd. I personnaly would take Kidd, but it's Christmas, so I can dream.

Forget about Mike Bibby cuz he is not worth it. He is coming off a terrible year where his shot dissapeared and thats the last thing this team needs. He makes a ton of money and is probably the worst defensive PG in the league. He will not help this team and definitely not at the level his contract is worth.

Forget about Kidd because we cant get that deal done. The Nets would want young stars and multiple picks. We have neither. Just think they wanted Bynum and Odom for Kidd, and we cant put up an offer anywhere near that. Plus bringing in Kidd would put us about 20 million over the tax unless we trade Tmac for him, and we know that isnt going to happen.

With Brooks starting to play okay, I dont see us making a PG move. Bringing in another mediocre PG wont help, and bringing in a big time PG is unlikely. Alston is going to start and I imagine we will continue to hope Brooks develops and pray James or Francis somehow figure out how to play again.

niether of those guys are attainable without first starting a package with brooks and ending the package with future picks.

even then, all the other players needed to match salaries would surely blow the deal since guys like rafer, james and shane are on long contracts.

It will be a complete indictment on this franchise if they fail to make the playoffs, because they weren't able to acquire a better point guard.

Agree. Bibby is done though he is younger than Kidd. Kidd would be nice for Rox as Rox never had a decent PG in the last 5-6 years.

I agree, bibby is a has been. what the hell has he done in the last 3 years?

Kidd on the other hand is a future hall of famer, and could really bring a lot of guidance to this team. But,

.....dude makes like $19 mil a year.

Not gonna happen, unless we give up a player that makes a similar salary, or just trade the entire team and have 2 players on the bench.

Here is my obligatory post to say, yet again, that Adelman left the Kings on very bad terms and the Maloofs will not do anything to help him, such as trading us Bibby (or Artest).

I was thinking Battier + James for Bibby.

    Yao Ming, Mutombo
    L. Scola, Hayes, Landry
    McGrady, Snyder, Novak
    B. Wells, Francis, Head
    M. Bibby, Allston, Brooks

    I like Jason Kidd!
If we have any chance of getting him and we won't move the big two then our next most valuable experienced player would be Battier then
    Alston +.............and draft picks.
Jason Kidd would enable the ball to reach the hands of scorers at the right time, in the right position. No doubt we would then have a top tier Playmaking Point Guard, who would be Ok for about three more seasons.
There is also the chance that we would trade one of our top players and end up with Kidd and a scorer!
A team playing the team sport of Basketball must have a Playmaker to run the show by being the floor general. :p
