One of the most underrated aspects of these moves is we are at 14 players. I know there are a couple of guys playing for the Vipers that have been discussed but what potential veteran cuts might happen this week. Area's of need a backup 5, Smith is too inconsistent and D-Mo lacks strength to sub Asik against a true Center. Also another PG would help I am not sold on Beverley getting big minutes.
Sign someone who is solid and helps short term for the playoff run whether it's a backup 1, 4, 5 or someone who can start at 4
Rumour is that Tim Olhbrecht from the RGV Vipers has been contracted after Celtics expressed interest.
I was personally more curious about Hassan Whiteside. Very raw project C but great physical specimen.
Nope. A team can not reacquire its own player who is traded to other teams and subsequently waived/bought out, until the anniversary of that trade (2/22/2014) or the July 1 (7/1/2013)following the end of his contract, whichever is earlier. The rockets can only sign back Toney Douglas as early as this July 1. Although I don't expect the Kings/SuperSonics/whatever to give him a qualifying offer, this move (signing him) doesn't really make sense since cap space is cucial this summer.
Sign some Euros! Circumvent the draft process and let's just sign a lotto talent the way Minny did with Shevd. Get Jaiteh in here http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Mouhammadou-Jaiteh-6366/ Or Saric: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dario-Saric-5706/
Cannot do it. These guys have not been through the draft process yet. Minny signed Shved AFTER he became eligible for the draft AND went undrafted-- much like Jeremy Lin, Greg Smith and Chuck Hayes got signed as rookies.
No problem. Don't shved it. The draft is far from an exact science. Sometimes shved like this just happens due to shveddy scouting.
