I didn't see this posted anywhere else, so thought I'd share.

Rudy was on 610 yesterday and Rich & Kenny(I think) played an earlier interview with Rudy where he stated that while the team doesn't comment on things like possible trades, that the phone hasn't exactly been ringing. While this doesn't mean the Rockets aren't trying to pursue a deal, the other teams in the league aren't burning up our phone line.

Not too surprising when you consider who we have available. It's fun to dreamcast, but let's be realistic-- we aren't exactly the hot spot. Consider what we have available. Cato-- a guy making 6 million a year barely playing, sulking, constantly injured, underproducing, etc. I'm sure teams are begging to take that contract off our hands. Carlos may be popular a few places, but I've heard from several places that Rudy really likes him. When things go bad, you can always put Carlos in for the hustle plays, loose balls, etc. He's a great guy to have around. Only other guy I can think of possibly being available is Walt, but again, you're looking at a streaky player who usually is one-dimensional and can be useless. For 4.5 million. Not a lot of takers. Not too surprising that we aren't getting a lot of calls, considering who we have available.

The only true trade bait the Rockets have is Cat, and maybe Mooch. I think teams realize that Mo signed that one year deal to showcase himself and show that he is worth soem decent money that I think that he thinks Houston will offer him. I can see the Rocks making calls themselves though.

Few teams are gonna call the Rockets. If any move is made, it would be on our part to free up cap space. We might not find a sucker to take Cato off our hands, but I think Walt and Los might fetch some attention.

Or a trade has already been proposed and worked out and the other team(s) are making calls to see if they can do better by Feb. 22 before deciding to consummate a deal with Houston. Or (I can only hope) teams like Chicago or Miami might want to see if Cato's healthy before saying yea or nay. Or Rudy's telling white lies. The Rockets have been burned before in trade matters.

Los' only value lately is keeping some other player's seat warm. I think he's talented and should play. But we might not see him play at all until he's either traded (reasonably friendly contract) or until the trade deadline has passed.

Let's get serious... no talk, no real rumours. Rocket's will not trade

All we can do is look forward to the end of the season for a big trade or getting a free agent. If we are unable to get Webber we will at least have the flexability to explore more trade possibilities being under the salary cap.
