“This is the first time I really have had to deal with something like this and coming off surgery. That is my first major surgery in 11 years and it has been tough so far. It has been frustrating. I just felt like at the beginning of the season and overlooking the schedule that I felt like I had to be out there and helping my team win ballgames I was going to do it no matter how I felt. Right now we are doing so well. When our schedule starts to get a little bit easier for us, I will probably make a decision to try and sit out. Personally, I don’t measure myself by what I did in the regular season. I get measured by what I do in April and May. I am definitely not trying to be Superman and just contribute the best way I can.”

    props to dude.

I kinda like what they are doing now, playing Tmac under 30 minutes a game, and if he's showing any signs of his knee bothering him play him even less. This isn't a situation where playing on it makes it worse.

Hmm that is another option almost all of us fans haven't thought of. Most of them were limit his minutes, play him off the bench or rest him all the way till he is healthy.

If he does plan to sit out (which is most likely), I hope it would only be against scrub teams. Reminds me of last year when the Rox beat the Sonics (if I remember correctly) without McGrady and Yao.

What I really want to know is, how long will it take? Does resting make any difference? Or does he just need to play his way back to 100%

Agree. And to add to that...tmac was right that he does get measured in the playoffs...we need a HEALTHY TMAC come that time and a 80% health tmac at this time is fine with me

Yao and Tmac with 31 minutes today. Artest had 38... I'm really hoping Battier coming back will bring Artest's minutes down.

Hopefully we can blow out some of these weaker teams so we can give our stars some much needed rest. I like the fact that our defense is clapping down and that is definitely helping out our offense.

i think he'll keep playing, but in limited minutes like right now (30 mins/game).

however, i think you'll see him sit out if we do play easy teams (like thunder...) or easy teams on a b2b.

but we can't let him rest for too long b/c he'll lose his playing rhythm, stamina, game shape, and more importantly, team chemistry.

i think when Shane comes back, he should be able to get more rest or even sit out some games. we need a 100% T-Mac come playoff time. plus, i think we seriously need to bring Deke back, any teams for a Luther Head trade then we can sign Deke??

Yeah, we need Tmac recover 80%, because I dont think he can healed 100%, indeed 80% is enough, when shedule get easier, we may let our big 3 sit out in turn, not Tmac only, our big 3 are all injure-prone.

We need him at 100%, we want him at 100%. The real question is, can he get to 100% with these rests.

think not, so I told 80% is reasonable,I also want him healed 100%, if we didnt injured last season(Battier missed first two games at playoffs, and we both lose), we should have past 1st round.

Not Tmac only, also wish Yao and Ron both need to keep their best whan playoffs.

I smell a Luther trade, he hasn't played one minute recently and Brent has sucked.

I don't see how he can be traded though. Who will want him? He doesn't make enough money to be a salary dump either...

I would prefer that he had surgery now if it meant that he could come back stronger before the playoffs start. With our depth and Battier coming back,
I'm confident that we could pull a good seed without him.

With T-Mac, my issue is only that his shot is always so flat. If he didn't miss so many shots, it wouldn't be so apparent. He needs either more arch (unlikely- changing his mechanics "see: Jeff Bagwell" or "futility") or he needs more lift (probably- see leg strength).

I just don't see him sitting out a few games as a good solution. His effectiveness is like the tides. Only we can actually predict the tides. Dammit forget my analogy. I can't wait until 2010 if we can find some reasonable facsimile. And I love T-Mac.

surgery for what? there's nothing wrong with his knee. he's just lacking strength.
