Nothing complicated. I'd just like to see what the overall ClutchFans' perspective is since there seems to be a significant number of people on both sides of the fence. A simple thumbs up or thumbs down to anything and everything related to Tracy McGrady, the basketball player - past, present or future...
I'm confused by the thread... Are we supposed to give you our take on whether we like him, or whether we think he should be on the team anymore? Honestly, I like Tracy, but I think it's about time the Rockets decide to move on.
TMac gets a hell yea, regardless of how you feel the guy busted his ass for this team for years. Its obvious something is wrong whether it mental, physical or some combination of both.....Get well TMac. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/madOSSJqAAw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/madOSSJqAAw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Just in case some of y'all forgot...
Just in general. Sort of abstract. Just a thumbs up or thumbs down to anything and everything related to Tracy McGrady the basketball player - past, present or future..
Well then I give a thumbs up. It's been a long journey with him as a Rocket, but I feel that the past seasons of good far exceed this horrible one. He's put his body through so much for this team, and (until now) has tried everything he possibly could to get on the court. Last season I gained a ton more respect for him and how he carried this team on his back, so for that, I give him a thumbs up.
I vote Nay, not cause I don't like the guy or appreciated his efforts. Its that my standards as a Rockets fan are very high.
I am a Yao fan, a rockets fan and Tmac fan. I still remember how excited I was when he first joined us. I thought this yao/mac duo + role players could achieve great things together. He may fall short of many people's expectation but he gave his best yrs to us. So I'm not gonna pile on the guy when he is down. Thanks Tmac, all the best. thumbs up
I'm with you but not for the same reasons. I wasn't fortunate enough to follow the Rockets when they won their championships. The only team I ever followed that won it all was the Redskins back in the day when I lived in D.C. My reasoning for voting Nay is two fold: 1. Physically, he's a trainwreck and part of being a professional athlete is being able to stay on the court and perform, whether or not your inability to do so is your fault or not. 2. I just don't feel like he consistently put his heart into winning and I don't think it was just because of his physical deterioration. He just didn't have the drive, the heart of a champion and that is exactly what we needed from him. The talent was there when he was healthy. All frustrations aside, this isn't a knock on him as a person. I don't know him as a person. I know him as a basketball player so that is my only basis for judgment. He actually seems like a pretty good guy. I've never heard of him getting arrested or getting into trouble off the court.
3. He's declared himself out for the season, a few days before the trade deadline and the day we play the team that we want to do a trade with. That's just suspicious.
I voted 'Yea'. Since he arrived here in 2004, he's made a difference on the court. His skills made the Rockets fun to watch. Yes, he may have had three first round exits, but he took it to seven games against arguably 'better' teams. Last year, he put the team on his back when Yao went down with a hurt shoulder and knee. While I am upset as to how Tracy has behaved this season (as far as creating unnecessary 'drama'), people quickly give him the cold shoulder.
2nd this post. if you take account of tmac's past as a rocket, i don't see how it's a nay. yeah i know he didn't lead us past the first round but he did his best and simply produced more than any other rocket including yao. this half season of mess isn't enough to negate what he did before.
It's a Nay for now, but Yea for his efforts over the years. Though of course, the majority of this board spend more time stalking and critcizing McGrady's life than the actualy Rockets team itself. Funny how all fans appear to quickly label themself as a team first guy whenever they have to defend a McGrady Apologist. As a Rocket fan, I'm disappointed with McGrady this year, but he has offered so much effort over his years. He even played on one knee despite playing with a bunch of rookies and scrubs when Yao was injured and did not even decide to "shut it down". The fans in this board went way over board this time. We're looking at people who are happy he is injured. Wishing the WORSE for him. Coming up with Conspiracies about his injuries just so he can do no right. This is becoming one of those youtube comment nightmares, where each and every comment is classless, ignorant and pathetic. It's not even constructive anymore for this board.
+1 Clutchfans.. where "you are only as good your last game" happens. this thread sucks... I am wondering who the next scapegoat is gonna be....
