Are we going to see this version of Tmac this year? I know he steps up bigtime come playoffs. He just needs help from the supporting cast. Here is his Playoff stats (excluding in Toronto where he is not the main man then). 31.6 PPG 6.9 RPG 6.1 APG 1.5 SPG 1.3 BPG .445 FG
that would make as a damn good team and hush just about every naysayer out there. PLEAAAAAASE tmac, lets do it baby.
He always shows up for the playoffs. That's why I hate it when people blame him for never getting out of the 1st round. It is a team game, you know.
Insane stats. I doubt, we see 32pt, 7rbs, 6 assists, 1.5 blks, 1.5 steals, T-Mac. I hope, but it isn't likely. I think he averages the second most ppg after Jordan in playoff history.
STATISTICALLY, he has been the best overall individual performer in the past decade i believe out of all the current perimeter players. but wins-wise, not so much. he BETTER steps up this year. it does'nt matter if we win or lose b/c the role players will grow so much from this experience. it's also to show he still is a superstar, a player this team can still depend on, and can we move forward with tmac as our main guy still or not?
if he can atleast shoot above 45% and our guys can hit open shots (im looking at you, luther) we have a good chance of beating them
He's REALLY been struggling. I honestly don't think he'll flip the switch this time. If we're going to win, it needs to be a TEAM win.
He didn't flip it last year and looks worse over the last 10 games than he has in as long as I can remember.
I would love to see it, but let's hope that he will recognize if his jumpshot is not there, he can help this team win by setting up his fellow players. As much as TMac can carry this team, he can also shoot us out a game. I hope he's on, because that's what it will take for this team to advance in the playoffs.
I've noticed this ever since he's become a Rocket. The difference is not only evident in the stats, but you can SEE the difference. His intensity is way up, he attacks almost exclusively, his defense is on point...he seems to be the player EVERYONE wants him to be. The one that draws comparisons to Kobe Bryant. Let's hope this year is no different, and he turns from banner to hulk per usual in the playoffs. I want this series bad
look guys i dont wanna disappoint you but he cant....he cant just go insane in 4 days from now...if he does i will be a kiss ass on this forum forever
i dont think so, he never did last playoff series. Looked flat mostly in that series, his decline this season and over the last 10 games is really a sour spot right now. I think he controls his own destiny as a player here, even if we don't win if Tmac goes out swingin and decides to drive more, play harder, D up, get his shot back, and be a leader than I think people will earn his respect and not so much blame him for anything
he had his 2 best games as a rocket: 26 and 16 in game 5; 29 and 13 in game 7. he played superstar-like in the games 1 and 2 also in how he brought intensity and passion and an unwillingness to lose. he didn't bring that on the road. he needed the role players and yao to win one game for him, which they didn't.
I posted this in a previous thread.... In the Rockets' last 16 games (win 22 and on) Mac has put up the following numbers: 121/341 from the field (.355) broken down further, that's 110/281 from 2 point land (.392) and 11/60 on threes (.183) and 62/93 from the line (.667). If he turns it on to his previous playoff levels, it'll be - in a word - impressive.
Tmac is one of those players who has an extra gear and he turns it on during the playoffs. His playoff numbers are historic. He just hasn't had much help in the past. Especially last year when Boozer treated Yao like a red headed step child.
