Very cool. Tracy came off very well, and it made me proud that what he's doing is indirectly associated with the Rockets and Houston. Nice work Mac.
Pretty short interview on his work around Darfur. I didn't know his number change was related to his Darfur work. Said he had gotten Derek Fisher and Baron Davis involved in the issue.
I did see his documentary on Darfur. It was sad......it amazes me (not really) how people can be more concerned about something so trival, like the Kanye West situation, and yet have little to no concern for something so real and soo more important. *In before the McGrady hate*
Here it is online already on the official website: <div><iframe height="339" width="425" src="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/32994603#32994603" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe><p style="font-size:11px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #999; margin-top: 5px; background: transparent; text-align: center; width: 425px;">Visit msnbc.com for <a style="text-decoration:none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999 !important; font-weight:normal !important; height: 13px; color:#5799DB !important;" href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com">Breaking News</a>, <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032507" style="text-decoration:none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999 !important; font-weight:normal !important; height: 13px; color:#5799DB !important;">World News</a>, and <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032072" style="text-decoration:none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999 !important; font-weight:normal !important; height: 13px; color:#5799DB !important;">News about the Economy</a></p></div>
#3 with all his humanitarian projects its hard for me to believe he would quit on the Rockets.. Working so hard to help others requires you to have a large amount of integrity.. But I still cant seem to shake those feelings.. Outside of BBall Tmac is pretty great individual..
Sad how people are still ignorant to what's REALLY going on in Darfur and it's not genocide. The US has only intensified the struggle in Darfur and made it worse by telling the people there's a genocide going on. By keeping up this blatant lie, things will only get worse and I'm sorry for Tracy that he has been lied to also. Good that he went over there, but hearing this other guy and the interviewer talking about genocide makes me realise what they are doing. Please read: Saviours and Survivors by Mahmood Mamdani and you will see how your own government has again lied to the world for their own agenda. The Save Darfur Movement is a terrible organisation which doesn't spend even 25% of their donations in the area, are for military intervention and make the enemy out to be Arabs.
Thanks so much, Tracy! As an added bonus, I'm thinking that his off-the-court leadership on the world stage might translate well for bringing some leadership to the Rockets this year. Far less important than Darfur, of course.
You sure know how to throw a wet towel on things. The interviewer is Rachel Maddow, one of the best in the business. How does her interviewing make you realize what they are doing?
What I'm saying is that Tracy is probably doing good work in Darfur but hearing his partner (Prendergast) and the interviewer using the word genocide makes me realise again what they are doing. That is intensifying the struggle, causing confusion, divide the people, labelling the bad as Arabs and the good as Africans etc.
