He didn't play a single minute, but he cheered on his teammates when they scored. He even Jumped out of his seat (on a bum knee, that's all heart) on a couple ocassions. He was usually the first one to greet them when they came to the bench. Probably the most he's contributed all year. I think he could give Brian Cook a run for his money. Then again, it is The Brian Cook so maybe not.
I'm trying to care... trying really hard.. Nope, can't do it. In the long run does it really make a difference how much he smiles during a game when he's in a suit?
You have to give him some credit for showing up. He didn't just show up because of him risking his rep even more.. (that's already at it's worst point now in Houston), he came because he cared. I was watching him from time to time on the bench, he jumped up and cheered for the Rockets.
I'll give McGrady credit for actually attending a Rockets game for the first time in years, but it doesn't change much still. Like the above poster said, how much credit do you give the guy for smiling in a suit?
haha are you guys ever happy? this is clearly a joke thread. I'm guessing yall missed the first Brian Cook thread when he joined the team.
Uh.. fail.. HIS PUBLIC IMAGE IS DESTROYED IN HOUSTON. What other image did he save? I already mentioned that in my post.
Chill man, if you knew me you'd know that I'm just being an ass. You missed the irony just like I missed the thread being a joke.
Actually it can be repaired, if he comes into camp in shape, and is contrite and ready to get to work, the fans will forgive him..... All Houston fans care about is winning and the biggest beef with Tmac is that he doesn't seem to have the same passion for winning as a lot of us fans do....and that is a major problem. DD
1) I don't care if it was a joke thread.. I can't really tell the difference these days anyways with so much hate on this board. It really doesn't matter if it was a joke thread or a real thread at this point. 2)To DD: Yeah, I never really said it couldn't be repaired. I was just saying that he didn't show up to keep his rep (which is already messed up at its worst), but I agree with you. I think that's what's going to happen, I just want to see how all the haters and bandwagoners on this board react to it when it does... (btw I'm not or nor have I ever been a T-Mac fanboy or a Yao fanboy, If I had a fav player he probably wouldn't be on the Rockets)
if i recalled correctly, he cared plenty when it mattered. i learned to accept that it was just not working out with t-mac and houston, but to say he never cared is not really fair. he played really well and hard during the playoffs for us the past few years, and he really stepped up his leadership during the times yao went out. he's done in houston, but hating him for lack of effort is ridiculous considering he was the only person ever showing up for us when it counted. battier told him to get 40, and he went out to get 40 against the jazz.
Ummm.....not certain if anyone has really thought about this angle BUT, I think T-Mac had no choice but to show up yesterday. In past home games, the Rockets clearly gave him a choice, and he clearly took it as we did not see him on the bench, supporting his mates. BUT we ALL know just how important these playoff home games are to the Rockets. Do you think for a split second the Rockets FO would be okay with McGardy staying home during these games? What's up for debate here is did the Rockets demand his attendance or did T-Mac know he had no choice and decided to attend either to not further anger his employer or as positive PR spin? And to anyone who say he showed up cause he cared, consider this: The last home game of the regular season against New Orleans was a pretty important game as we all knew what was on the line then. Any T-Mac sightings then?
