I told my sister in Austin that I would leave myself logged in on instant messenger (MSN or Google Talk) all day, and that when she saw me drop offline, she would know power was out in my area and she wouldn't be able to reach me via cell-phone. I'd log back in when power was restored. My parents in Houston were going to do the same thing, so I could check on them.

I originally started this thread to see if others wanted to participate, and by monitoring who was online, we could see where the power went down, and when it came back. All you would really need to do this is to post your:

    1) Location (i.e. Tomball, Texas)
    2) MSN/Google ID (something@hotmail.com or something@gmail.com)

Unfortunately I am having power blinks so I can't monitor everyone and post who's power is off and who's power is on. If anyone wants to check the power in Bryan/College Station here's my info:

    1) Bryan/College Station
    2) xtalman@gmail.com
