need to trade in my car for one w/ better gas mileage but i want my new ride to have a little zip. i also need space to haul stuff around in. im down to the toyota matrix and mazda3. does anyone here own one of them. what do you think? thanx
What is your budget? For 20k I would go with the new Civic Si. 200 hp and probally almost 30mpg city.
Mazda3 I just got one. One of consumer reports best rated cars around. Better than corolla and civic. Great gas mileage (35 on the highway), sweet extra features that civic doesnt give (like radio controls on steering, tiptronic manual, etc..) and GREAT PRICE. I paid 12k for a used 2004 mazda3 with 19000 miles. The car has been great and handles much better than a civic (which i find is the civic's one downside) Reliability was rated as excellent by consumer reports so it should go a long way.
I have driven (unfortunately for me) the Toyota Matrix while on business travel. It absolutely blows. Go with the Mazda 3 - better yet, come up with something better than these 2 vehicles.
I got a blue Mazda 3 5 door. Fun car that handles great, decent features for the price. Also nice not having a car that looks like every other car on the road. My friend has a Scion tC (nice car) and the Mazda 3 definately feels sportier.
Mazda 3, no question about it. There is also that HHR and PTCruiser if you are into 'throwbacks', they probably have more cargo capacity
any toyota matrix xrs owners out there? what do yall have to say? btw, does the toyota matrix xrs take premium gas?
The new civic SI is very nice. If he is looking in the same price range the RSX is also a nice choice but doesnt quite get the milage of the civic.
