Artest's potential on-court impact has been discussed frequently. Many fans are excited about what he can bring into the new season.

However, would that excitement translate into a more lively atomsphere at Rockets games? We have all heard that fans at the TC can be too sleepy. Will the Rockets sell significantly more tickets as a result of the Artest acquisition? Will the fans get louder or remain sleepy as usual?

One would normally expect more excited fans when a team gets better, but a better team could mean the Rockets becoming a hotter ticket, and more of the tickets being sold to people with more re-sources-- i.e. the suits who got tickets from their companies. Nothing against them, but when you are out with a client, you can't exactly behave the same way as you do when out with a buddy?

You go to a bullfight and expect there to be a bull.

The Rox now have a bull.

Don't worry about the suits, the Toyota Center will be rocking more consistently and more often than it ever has.

Our fans suck... Ive been to several games in different cities and Id say that the Rox fans were some of the quietest and least aware compared to those of say, Dallas and Minnesota.

17,524 was the average attendance last year, and 18,300 is max capacity. to expect 17,900 isn't out of the question... though the better the team plays will have a bigger impact than ron's place on the roster.

I don't know. The white collar lower bowl crowd of the TC is a different breed from other white collar crowds, they're stiff robots that follow the white collar protocol 101 to the T.

I actually propose free hard liquor for the lower bowl crowd. The lower your seat is, the more free liquor you get. People who sit behind the visiting team's bench get unlimited open bar tab. Just present your ticket to get your Jack Daniel's or Patron on.

    Number 2!
Only for the first few games though as the crowd has to see how Artest behaves before getting loud and encouraging.

Once they see what he brings and if he behaves (last year and growing kids should have a impact on this) they will start yelling and hyping us more then ever.

As for the one who says we have the worst fans, that's not what T said during the 22 games.

Thanks, it's better than the originally contemplated title:

Toyota Center Fans: Will Ron reach into the stands and make you come?

When we start winning, the Fair Weathers will come out, untill then i see it as about the same. I still really really think they should do something about the lowerbowl corporate stiffs, LET US HAVE IT IF THEY DONT SHOW BY HALFTIME!!

Quoted For Truth!! I can't stand it when people go to the Rockets games dressed in their flyest outfit like they came out of gq or some fashion magazine, at least wear a red shirt if youre gonna do that.... More Red and more noise! For some reason us Houston fans seem to be really quiet...

Of course R.A. II will help out with the atmosphere, we're less boring and more energetic and fierce, hopefully Francis can show off some of his old swagger too, fearless.

of course it was intentional  and let it go already with the going into the stands, even if you are trying to be clever and are talking about attendance and the level of enthusiasm--you are still referencing it indirectly......LET IT GO

Not only will his impact reach into the stands, Ron Artest himself will reach into the stands.

I know for me personally I would be a hell of a lot louder if he is into it. Same for Steve when he was out there playing his butt off. I know you guys have seen the infamous chest pounding clip, Artest VS Utah. If Artest starts doing that at Toyota I would probably rip my shirt off, jump onto the court, and eat the opponents players.
