Perhaps my sarcasm detector is broken, but they've put out a slew of direct-to-video sequels to their classics the last few years.
I thought the end of the second wrapped it up pretty well. Hard to see what more they can do with it. It might be like Shrek 3 where it seemed they just ran out of good ideas for the series.
toy story 2 had to have been in theaters, though i'm not sure.... shrek 3 could be a good comparison, let's just hope not.

Three kids, so I've seen all the kids movies, and Toy Story 2 is in my top 3 (animated), with Iron Giant and Shrek.
disney said they would cut back in straight to dvd sequals. would love to see a cars sequal...you know for my nephew
I welcome another Toy Story if for no other reason than that it would give me some variety. My two year old loves Buzz. We were watching one of the Toy Story movies almost every day for awhile. We've kind of moved on to Tarzan at the moment, but anything new would be appreciated.
A bit of Trivia for you. Toy Story 2 was slated for straight to DVD, but then the studio saw an early cut and decided it needed a theatrical release. Good thing too, because it is the highest reviewed movie of all time according to Rotten Tomatoes DD
I don't understand how they could have even considered it straight to dvd in the first place. The Toy Story I was a revolutionary movie and was a huge success. Normally a follow up of a classic has alot of interest.
More than anything I want Pixar to do an Incredibles sequel. That movie just naturally lends itself to sequels. Cars, on the other hand. Well, I'm not sure what that one will be about.
From a picture I saw it is supposed to be something about Buzz Lightyear dolls getting recalled. Toy Story 3 has been known about for a while now. I remember seeing this pic about a year or so ago.
I think I read somewhere that they are making a sequel based around the Underminor being the villian.
