After finishing studying for a Business Stats class, i was wondering what the hardest final you guys have taken? I think this Stats class will rank up there in the top 5. Have fun studying and good luck you yall
Organic chemistry 2. Class average out of a total grade of 150 was a 36. After studying about 35 hours for it, I got a 28/150. I have had tougher classes, but that test just blew me away.
organic chem was easy and fun...physical chem on the other hand...our class was 32 the day before the final, only 11 took the final and only 6 passed. i took it again in the summer
Pchem was not too much harder than either organic (got A's and A-'s in all 3), but if ya like those you should try out my reactor design class. Never gotten below a B in any class, and I think I'm sitting on a D right now. For you ladies out there, it's even more fun for you since he'll only call on the girls and refers to them as "you pretty little girl". Jack@ss.
Differential Equations final was tough because of the teacher I had. I never missed a class and did all the work, but got a 'D' in the class. Over half the class either got a 'D' or 'F'. The teacher didn't believe in 'C's.
Accounting 328...Internediate Accounting II I wound up making an A...but that was only after DAYS of study and a nice curve.
unt2003, I am about to take a really hard Economic Statistics final, so I feel your pain. I just can't wait for Econometrics next semester! That class is gonna kick my *ss.
Personal Finance at UT, hands down. There is a reason that half the students took it pass/fail. The quantity of the material is unreasonable. Current and future UT students, do not take this class. Biggest mistake I made. I made a D and was a pass/fail student though.
Visual Basic Script class at UH. That final was 50% of my class. The midterm was 45%. Do the math for the rest of the class....
I had the same exact situation that you did. I took it pass/fail and thought that I would probably learn a lot. I was failing the class until the final, but I studied like a madman and passed. I still know very little about personal finance. I should have just taken another gem shaping class or something fun. Rockets 10, did you take it at UT? Who was your teacher if you did?
Actually no, I am taking it at Georgetown. I didn't make it far enough into my UT education to have taken it there. (I left after my freshman year)
i did relatively well in my Business Stats class (Quant. Methods) and my final wasnt all that hard, but then again i took it over the summer so the prof. was a little more lax. Business calculus on the other hand sucked a$$, and i just took my managerial accounting final and i'm really regreting not studying for that one.
Woah...Deja Vu. O Chem B I took was pretty hard. So hard that I'm going to take it again next quarter...
Well Organic Chem II for Engineers was the final i have done the worst on ever. Got a sweet 58. Luckily, i only needed a 56.5 to get an A b/c 75 is an A in Meyers' (who is a badass) class. Most of his tests were fair but i thought this one had some serious BS on it. i knew the **** front and back but only got that 58. oh well, got the A. man apparently y'all had some crappy pchem teachers. ours gave us 7 essay questions about a week before each exam and 2 would be on the exam. we just typed the answers into our calcs (god bless texas instruments and their graphing calculators) and cruised. that felt a little bad for the 3 midterms, but when on the final he said 24 essays were possibilities to be the 4 we had to answer, i didn't feel guilty at all typing that stuff in there. that would have been IMPOSSIBLE to remember all 24 b/c there were some long derivations and explanations in there. so actually, pchem may have technically been the toughest final i ever had but since it was all in my calc it was ez. again, god bless TI and their calculators. they are like Bibles to UT ChE's we have so much important stuff stored in there.
My worst was the five-hour PChem II final at Rice. I think their real reason for giving you take-home tests (work by yourself, honor system and other rules still apply) was so you could have nasty exams that lasted several hours. Some of them you could use your notes on, but they would ask such impossible questions that it didn't matter. He never taught us any kind of problem-solving technique, and expected us to come up with this stuff from scratch.
for Isabel, and anyone else of Rice descent, how much is the honor system followed on take home tests (or on all tests/hw for that matter). as my friends and I were typing stuff into our calculator for a class at UT (i think thermo) i was saying that if i had gone to Rice (got in, chose not to go) i probably wouldn't be doing stuff like this because of the honor system and that other people at Rice probably didn't do stuff like this also (or any cheating like talking back and forth during exams). they said i was crazy and that people cheated everywhere, honor system or not. i said that the type of people that went to rice probably would follow the honor system and that i thought my friend at Rice never seemed to mention cheating. so based on y'alls experience, is the honor system followed strictly. one more question, are u supposed to yell on other people if you see them cheating in the whole honor system thing? thanks
