They are beatable. The Rockets can own this team because of one man. Yao!! What i don't understand is that why would Jeff and company allow the game to go away from him. The Spurs went into a zone with about 8mins to go in the game, but there were many instances where Yao wasn't even given a chance to lead us. Instead, the Rockets relied on poor perimeter play which actually played into what the Spurs wanted. Yao was our answer and we froze him out....possession after possession. Yes, the Spurs made adjustments, but there were times where Yao had single coverage, the weak side defense were rotating slow and he still didn't receive the ball!!!

The offense has to go through this cat at times like these! He has to have more than 13 attempts! I know he was in foul trouble early, but the fourth quarter is the fourth quarter and we blew it. Besides Rod Strickland and Barrett sucking hot toes....the Rockets and Jeff didn't help by freezing our only hope.

CD.....you better bring in something. PG .....SG......and damn GUARD!!

I found it odd what the commentators (the national broadcast) were talking about what Houston should do.

One guy was saying that TMAC needs to be more aggressive, and that he was settling for the jumpshot, yadda yadda......

...and all that time, Yao is saving our butts..........scoring.....

.......and the same guy then proceeds to say that it is time for TMAC to take over.......even though Yao was doing just fine.......

    I don't get it.

I felt like everyone was waiting for tmac to turn on, yes he had his points but he didn't seem aggressive at all and should have tried to get to the line more. Funny thing, whenever the announcers were talking about mcgrady, saying that he needed to make a jumpshot or attack the basket, he would literally do it while they were saying that he should do it more.

tough loss indeed, right now we cannot survive in the fourth quarter if yao gets in foul trouble (where was padge btw?). Strickland was in a coma in the fourth and barret just didn't operate, his quickness is pretty much nullified against parker.

...I don't know I'm 50/50...I don't like some of JVG's substitutions..well I don't know we just need Sura or anyone back at point lol. SAY NO TO STRICKLAND! Too old :/

And it's the players that are playing. It's okay.

I agree. We could have beat them. We had this game and the Sonics game. We just need to finish the games out and close em with a victory

No, Rox can't beat the Spurs without Sura.

It took 3 quarters for the Spurs to realize that they can run Parker all the time and Rox would have no answer for that. If the Spurs realized this early, it would be ugly.

Wha? The Spurs are REALLY good - particularly at home where they are freakin' 22 and 1!!! Crimeny. Give them some credit.

No Jeff I agree with you and I give them all the credit in the world because they are the best team in the league....hands down. To me it's obvious that we give them fits and when Yao is aggressive and scoring basically whenever he's touching the ball (almost like tonight) it puts too much pressure on the Spurs defense. They have to start doubling and open shots start pouring from the heavens. It's simple basketball and I know that I'm just an ex football player that loves basketball...sitting on my sofa trying to be a coach lol...but it seems obvious that we froze our only option...not the Spurs. Now the best team in the league probably would have still won this game, but I would have liked to see the last 8mins with Yao dictating from the inside, not scrambling on the perimeter waiting for a Mcgrady Miracle. the only thing worse than the referees blowing a game is your team blowing it. You can't give the Spurs any advantages.....that's why they are the best.

If today we have sura with his average performance and also the bench contributes some points, I see no reason why spurs cannot be beat at their home.

Rox will be a very tough match up for the spurs, even tougher than sun and mavs.

They may be the best team in NBA. But they definitely dont want to meet us in the playoff.

Yeah. But we don't want to meet them either. Great game most of the way. We are obviously hurting from the loss of Sura and the play (and I use that word lightly) of Strickland and Barrett. But I am more worried about T-Mac. Whether he is injured or not, he has clearly been worn down over the course of the season.

If you watch the game, you should have noticed that in the last 7-8 min of the game, or after Yao scored 3 baskets in a row, the Spurs surrounded Yao in the paintwith 2 players immediately after the time out. Since our guard penetration was not there, we could not get Yao the ball deep in the paint.

Yao did get the ball on the perimeter several times, but he passed those 20 footers understandably.

They went to a zone where they fronted him and had the weak side watching......we saw that. But did the way you free yourself from that zone is what Yao did, he came out , set a pick and rolled back into position......in vain I might add. After the pick was set and he rolled back near the pain, he was open....single coverage. How long would he be open? Probably not for long, but that forces the Spurs to double or triple him....but it's a difference when he has the ball than when he doesn't when the double team comes. We can dictate the pace and their defense with open spot up shooters and weak side slashing. Instead, when Yao set the pick and moved back into position.....the guards moved the ball on the other side trying to find seams in the Spurs defense. Bad decision. I just don't understand why we would freeze the only thing that was working.

If the foofficials keep calling those cheap fouls on Yao, we may as well not even go to the playoffs...
