I used to like this show, but I just stopped watching it a few months ago. I don't know what it was, but I just wasn't laughing when I watched anymore. I guess I'm not the only one since it seems it's about to be dropped. Comedy Central Dispersing 'Crowd' (Tuesday, September 28 09:17 AM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Colin Quinn and his "Tough Crowd" may be ushered off the premises at Comedy Central. The late-night show, which features a group of comedians working punchlines into a discussion of current events, is scheduled to go on a hiatus in November. That's no big deal, but it also looks like production of the show may shut down then as well. "The future of the show will be determined at that time," a network spokesman tells The Hollywood Reporter. Other sources, however, tell the paper that "Tough Crowd" is probably on its last legs. Lackluster ratings are largely to blame. "Tough Crowd" holds onto only about half of the audience from its lead-in, "The Daily Show." The network has struggled in recent years to find a lead-out series that can retain most of "The Daily Show's" viewers, in a timeslot opposite the network late-night shows. "Tough Crowd" premiered in December 2002. http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271%7C90919%7C1%7C,00.html
I like tough crowd, but I can get past the big black guy screaming at everyone and telling people "Shut up stupid!" to hear the points being made. Most people probably aren't like that... Then again I hang out in the D&D all day... go figure.
I liked it for the first couple of episodes of it I saw, but I don't care for it now. I always change the channel if it's on CC.
Colin Quinn is the worlds biggest ass clown. He isnt funny. He isnt remotely humorous. I cant stand him even a little bit.
the level of intellectualism is a step down from the Daily Show, you can't go from political satire to some angry stereotypes and expect people to keep interest.
They should have named the show "Rather dense and uninformed Americans discuss the news all at once."
I loved the idea of the show. A bunch of comedians gather around to discuss politics. The problem arises when the material is no longer funny, and politics aren't even being discussed. I'm not sure what I'd call what goes on during that show, but it's not discussion. Also, Colin Quinn is not funny. I never knew what "comedic timing" was until I saw Colin Quinn. Then I knew what it wasn't.
