I generally go with corn for enchiladas and the like. Fajitas and burritos are a different story as I have to go with flour. If I'm at Mission Burrito or something I'll get whole wheat when I can.

Good, fresh handmade corn tortillas are hard to beat. They're also almost impossible to find. I've made some a few times, but don't have it down yet. Good handmade flour ones are easier to find at restaurants, in my experience. So I usually go with those. They're both chock-full-o-lard if they're made right, so I don't think one is healthier than the other.

A couple of the grocery stores make some pretty darn good whole wheat ones, that's what I buy for home.

There's this little taco place in the shopping center where Fiesta is at Bellaire and Highway 6 is, they make some really good corn tortillas and sell them by the pound. Much better than buying from a grocery store.

Fresh homemade tortillas are the *****...I mostly eat corn so that's wht I voted for, but you can't beat a homemade flour tortilla...mmm...

As for flour, IMHO, Ninfa's are the best...Probalby going to get flamed, but Kroger has some badazz tortillas too...

There's a mexican rest. up here in Dallas called Cuquita's...They have THE best corn tortillas...reminds me of my grandma's when I was growing up...They serve you one before you're meal...mmm...

I just had some corn tortillas today for lunch, well, I had beef and cheese enchiladas...

Back in the day, the best flour tortillas from a restaurant I ever had were from Fandango's, which was on Westheimer just inside the beltway where the original Marble Slab is. They used to have a coupon for a discount on the fajitas and my family went like once a month. I just remember the last time I was there it was changed from the quaint hole in the wall to some redecreated faux nice restaurant and the food was not the same and sure enough it went out of business. I miss you Fandago's.

One of my pet peeves is when people use tortillas from the store without heating them up. They're not cooked all the way!

You can nuke them and they're okay, but the best way is to brown them with a cast iron skillet.

Depends on what I'm eating them with.

Mostly I go with whole grain flour. Corn is nice with soups and tacos.
    Flour alway with fajitas.

To me, corn taste better, but they are usually tiny by comparison, so not good for making burritos and such.

I agree, but I prefer flour in general.
HOWEVER, whenever I was in Guatemala, I found you CANNOT beat a fresh corn tortilla.
