he really has no choice. the majority of the country has totally tuned him out. he is never going to win over the people who are already against him so his only option is to double down on being the POS that he is. imagine him going out and trying to give an inspiring/feel-good jfk/obama/slick willie type speech right now. he is a malignant narcissist unable to show true empathy/compassion/basic humanity and everyone would see it.

Yep. Good lord, that article was ridiculous in how it’s trying to humanize him. He’s not “torn,” he knows exactly what he’s doing and is purposely doing it. There was a moment early during the Coronavirus response where he started acting presidential...his approval numbers began to rise And someone even mentioned how presidential he was being and if he was turning over a new leaf. His response was basically, we’ll see. The next day, he went right back to attacking the media and acting the fool. He doesn’t want to be presidential, he wants to be the troll..to divide people...because he wants loyal followers that can make him money. In his mind, being presidential and having empathy is a poor-man’s game and all he cares about is money and power. He’d rather a third of the country cultishly support him and give him tons of money, than a majority approve of what he’s doing and make less. As you’ve said before, @Nook, he’s a master troll.
