I'm sitting here channel surfing and stumbled across Near Dark on TMCXW. I've always loved this movie, and it got me to thinking- what are some of the top Vampire movies out there? There are so many to chose from that it's mind boggling to rank them. Here are some choices: Dracula (pick an version) Lost Boys From Dusk till Dawn 30 Days of Night Interview with the Vampire Vampires (John Carpenter) Fright Night Salem's Lot Nosferatu Near Dark Blade Underworld Buffy the Vampire Slayer Van Helsing Here's a list of 70
Lost Boys rules. It scared the crap outta me when I was a kid, but now it's just real fun. I liked the Buffy series a hell of a lot more than the movie.
Holy schitt! I didn't realize anybody else even knew about that movie. I love it. "Wolfman has nards." LOL! My nods go to "Blade", "Once Bitten", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and "The Lost Boys" as my faves. I wonder how the sequel to "The Lost Boys" will turn out.
yeah... sad that they had to make a sequel to it. at least the remake of the song during the trailer doesn't sound to bad. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/b6qYtid7zh0&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/b6qYtid7zh0&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Haim is in it according to idbm.com here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031254/ I didn't know it was a direct-to-video film. Probably a good idea though.
Carpenter's Vampires (the book, btw, is trash) Lost Boys Bram Stoker's Dracula Blade Trilogy Fright Night Dracula 2000 Both Salem's Lot Adaptations (both have strengths and weaknesses) All great stuff. I'm such a sucker for Vampire flicks.
Interview With the Vampire can't really be matched as far as the talent, direction, and storytelling. What a cast and they all acted their asses off. Very believable. I actually read a couple of the books it was so good. I was never compelled to read anything by Bram Stoker. About a year ago I went to a Monster Squad showing at Alamo Drafthouse. I could've watched it at home but they had all the main cast and the director there doing a Q&A. The best part of the night was buying shirt from the movie that said STEPHEN KING RULES and having them sign it. When I wear it, people always stop me and say "great shirt! yes he does!" Hardly anyone knows what movie its from unfortunately.
