10. Because the playoffs never started in November 9. Because no one remembers what happened in November....except the players who remember how they were dogged by the fans and sportswriters 8. Because we have no significant injuries 7. Because it's fun watching Aaron Brooks 6. Because T-mac isn't a 100% and it's going to be fun to watch when he gets back 5. Because Yao isn't 100% and it's going to be fun to watch when he gets back 4. Because Deke and Battier haven't played yet and it's going to be fun when they do 3. Because Artest is just getting comfortable 2. Because we started the season playing the league's elite teams, mostly on the road, and we have a winning record already....last year we would have been 2-7 at this point and.... 1. Every year we start the season with these annoying fans with incredible expectations who posts threads about how we'll win 70 games and be the awesomest team since teams were invented and at the first sign of trouble these fan go ballistic and after a while they disappear in December when they give up on the team and the rest of us can have fun and watch the team gel in peace.
Also, I don't care how "unworried" you are. We shouldn't have lost to an NBDL team tonight, PERIOD PERIOD PERIOD. **** how unworried some of the fans are.
You are 100% correct. The Rockets didn't start there 22 game winning streak untill around the All-Star Break. Before the season all I read was how the team would build towards the play-offs then we lose some games and the sky is falling. It is tought to build chemistry when you have a starter out of the team and are playing some of the best teams. Yet, here is the kicker...we are still over .500. Beleive me, I would love to be undeeated at the moment, playing like champions. I do however realise that 5 months is a long time. I just hope I do not read posts by the same people in march when the rockets are playing some Championship level Basketball!
You're not worried yet because you're not knowledgeable enough on basketball. Since when has Yao or McGrady got healthier as the season progresses? Never. It only gets worse.
Peronally, I tihnk TMac should sit-out till hes good to go while its still early in the season. Im pretty sure Yao and Artest can somewhat handle subpar teams.
The frustrating thing for me is I thought, just for once, the Rockets would get off to a good start this season. They were on such a roll in the second half of last year. All the excuses are tiresome after a while.
Tell me about it......it's the definition of "loser's mentality". Houston where mediocrity is accepted. The fans need to hold their team to a higher standard and should get upset after games like this. Losing to Tim Duncan and the misfits is unacceptable and was downright embarrassing. There were no positive things tonight.
Could you imagine if a healthy Spurs team lost to a Rockets team without two of the mediocre three? They would be pissed. But not Rocket fans. They just come with excuse after excuse.
Exactly. I'm all for patience. Yet, I can't sit here and look at those "patience" posters with a straight face and agree with them. Patience is fine when you put together some wins. Patience is fine when you know you're team is better than what they are. Patience is not what the Rockets deserve tonight. The rockets couldn't even out talent the spurs tonight. I want to see some results while giving the rockets this patience, not loss after loss after loss.
Seriously, are people surprised we are coming out of the gate slow? This happens EVERY DAMN SEASON! I don't think we've ever been more than 1-2 games over .500 going into December since the Tmac era, and probably even longer than that. We always struggle coming out of the gate, then we catch fire right before the all-star break and carry the momentum to the playoffs. You guys need to just chill out right now.
I'm tired of hearing this "Playoffs don't start in November" Playoffs don't start in November but it can effect your seeding in April.
