What are everyone's favorite movies of the year? I must have seen at least ten movies the past three weeks! There's still some I'd like to see, but these are my ten favorites so far. 1. About Schmidt 2. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 3. Pianist 4. Minority Report 5. 24 Hour Party People 6. Chicago 7. Spirited Away 8. Signs 9. 25th Hour 10. Frailty ..for good measure 11. Punch Drunk Love 12. Sunshine State
I don't believe I saw enough movies to be able to determine top 10 for the year, but I can easily say what the worst movie of the year was... They What a horrible piece of crap...
Isn't "the Thing" that old john carpenter movie with Kurt Russel and the disgusting alien that takes over people's body's? So was there a new movie this year that just happened to have the same name?
My top 10: 1: Spiderman 2: The Salton Sea (did anyone else see this?.....GREAT movie that did not get alot of press....Kilmer's best performance) 3: Insomnia 4: Frailty 5: Road to Perdition 6: Bloody Sunday 7: Gosford Park 8: Secretary 9: City By The Sea 10: Minority Report
Add this list to DCKid's and you see how deep movie going was...I hope we get nearly as equal a lineup for 2003!
I have nothing to add but this: About Schmidt was the most horrible piece of **** I havee ever seen in my life. It drags, and drags.... then drags... then you see Kathy Bates nude and want to scrape your eyes out of your head.... then it drags some more... then it ends.
can't wait for that dude from swire.com to drop in and have the typical Shallow Hal, American Pie 3 and pile of Pauli Shaw movies in his top10
Hey, I liked "Gangs of New York" just for Daniel Day-Lewis. Normally I avoid Leo like the plague, but Day-Lewis should win an award for that role. He was superb... the most charismatic bad guy since Jack Nicholsen as the Joker in "Batman."
Gosford Park came out in 2001, technically (which is why is was in last year's Oscars). I would add About A Boy to the list of very good movies of the year. I thought it was a very well done movie (and considering that I don't like Hugh Grant normally, it's really saying something that I enjoyed this flick). I also liked Panic Room a good deal. And I really enjoyed Adaptation, Catch Me If You Can, Changing Lanes and The Bourne Identity from this year, as well as some others already mentioned.
I wont say its the best movie of 2002, but my favorite movie of 2002 is definitely "Signs!" It was a great date movie and the atmosphere in the theater when I went to see it was great. Everyone was screaming their balls off & the girl I was with kept grabbing onto me about every 5 seconds when something jumped out.
Yea that movie probably wouldnt have as been as good as it was if i hadnt been in the theatre, everyone in the crowd screaming got me jumping when that alien pops out at the kids birthday party.
