We are about to invade Iraq. The American embassy just notified my parents, who live in Saudi Arabia, to evacuate. I get to pick up my pug at the airport on Wednesday!!! Pretty crazy over there right now. Most Saudi's support the US but about 10-15% are fundamentalists and are pretty insane. I used to live over there. I love my pug, I haven't seen her in four years. If any of ya'll have ever had a pug then you know what I mean. Such personality. My pug sleeps with me and if my girlfriend has a problem with that she can sleep on the couch.
Did they say evacuate IMMEDIATELY? Or to be safe, please evacuate for now? I hope everything is OK...
They said ya'll need to get out of here within the next week or so. It is hard to get a flight right now obviously so they are putting my pug on a cargo flight on the 5th and coming themselves on the 12th.
Based on Blair's comments the other day and the Administration's response, I don't see how action could be immediately forthcoming.
Well they weren't given any military plans but the last time we were evacuated was right before they went into Kuwait.
It seems like they gave us about two weeks. We went to Disney World to get our mind off things. That was a fun trip, I was still a kid. Two years ago I went to Disney world with a suitcase of recreationals and 11 over-21-year-old friends. Now that was fun too. Try the ET ride at Universal Studios while being in a "Willie Nelson/Dave Chapelle" state of mind. Great fun.
