Those lists are screwed up. Pay it Forward was a hell of a lot better than Thirteen Days. Coyote Ugly and Mission to Mars were decent as well. Of those lists I think Pay it Forward, High Fidelity, and Almost Famous were the best.

I have to agree with whoever reviewed "O Brother Where Art Thou"; that Clooney dancing scene was the funniest thing I have seen in the movies in a long time. (I also liked the dog floating by in the water)

Gone in 60 seconds was a good movie, how did that make the worst list?
    And that best list sucked.

The fact that you think Gone in 60 Seconds was a good movie is enough to make me ignore the rest of your post.

Since this list sucks so bad, what's your top 10? I'm guessing that Coyote Ugly is near the top?

Any movie that pulls contrived emotional crap like this movie did deserves to burn. I've lost a lot of respect for Kevin Spacey.

What was wrong with Pay it Forward? It's one of the most original ideas out there as far as I'm concerned.

Anyways in all seriousness, how does one get to become a movie reviewer? I never heard of swirve before until your post.

Oh yeah one more thing. What criteria do you use to judge whether or not a movie is good or not? Entertainment value, performances, orginality, direction, writing, etc. Just curious...

It's pretty much a mix of all those things. The most important thing to me, of course, is entertainment value. I would never put a movie in my top 10 just because it was innovative or something. The closest I've ever done to doing that was Requiem for a Dream. I never want to see that movie again, but it's one of the most powerful and disturbing movies I've ever seen.

Actually, Rocketman95 I probably haven't seen enough movies from 2000 to be a good judge on which movies are the best. I haven't seen Coyote Ugly, although I probably will someday just because of Tyra Banks.
I just happened to like Gone in 60 seconds. The film was entertaining, even if it wasn't Oscar worthy. I also thought Mission to Mars was a decent movie, not nearly bad enough to be considered for a worst of the year list.

Am I the ONLY person that liked Coyote Ugly?? That movie could have easily been a cheap skin flick, but there was an interesting, fast paced plot with JUST enough cleavage to keep the movie sensual...

Meet the Parents was easily the best movie of the year, though...The only movie made in the past five years that was funnier was possibly Office Space

    Yes.

I considered Coyote Ugly tolerable thanks to Tyra.

Mission to Mars was horrible. Completely predictable, looked like the effects were thrown together at the last minute, horribly PC, nearly ruined my love of Van Halen... when the best part of a movie is an astronaut getting ripped apart, that says something.

MTP was very funny indeed. Makes my top 10 of 2000 list. They are working on the sequel, titled Meet The Fockers

I think that Battlefield Earth should be the number 1 worst of the year.

Hell, that is my second most hated movie of all time! Right behind The Pest...
