This message will stir up quite a bit of controversy, but I feel obligated to pass on this information.

I recently returned from the gym, where I ran into a *top Rockets personnel member* (sorry no names). I had a brief chit-chat with him about the Rockets off-season moves. Granted, I'm sure he can't tell me exactly what's on his mind so that rumors do not leak, but he gave me some *strong* hints as to the Rockets' wishes. Here is what I gleaned from him:

    1. The Rockets are going to be *very* active this off-season. They are satisfied with their rebuilding efforts (all one year of them!) and are not looking to add any more youth to the roster. I don't know if this disspells all of the speculation about maneuvering in the draft or not.... What the Rockets are looking to add is a couple of veterans in the front-court who will provide experience and muscle down low.

    2. My source would not reveal any names, but when I tossed out a few he said I was going in the right direction. Some names I tossed out were Dale Davis, PJ Brown, Brian Grant, and Otis Thorpe. Who knows if any of these guys are being pursued, but he *did* say I was in the right direction....

    3. From his body language and tone of voice (I know, not the best source) I gathered that they were not staying put with the #9 pick. I mentioned to him my preferences with the pick (Oyedije and Miles -- in that order) and he didn't feel comfortable talking about it. My personal opinion is that they are being very secretive in what they tell the media/others and that all of this Miller/Miles talk could be a smoke screen.

This is all that I could get out of him. Disect this any way you please.

I'm sorry, but what a load of crap. I seriously question that youy talked with a Rocket executive. If you're trying to get noticed around the BBS then why don't you just add to the conversation around here, not think up some bogus "rumors". This being your first post doesn't give you much credibility, but welcome to the BBS anyway.

I hope that among those four it is Brian Grant. Thorpe is serviceable but has 16 years in the league. Davis would be great but he is considered the heart and soul of the Pacers. Do you think they would really let him go? PJ Brown is a contributor but doesn't knock my socks off. What do you all think?

With the pick at 9, I'd grab the biggest glass-eater in sight.

    Soonestro,

Give the guy a break, if he comes here and gives real info, then this site gets more tuned in.

What he said is no different then what Popeye said.

I like the info, I will decide for myself whether it is crap.

    I hope he is right.

DaDakota- I have no source, but I did make Starlancer.

Soones just pissed that the Rockets official didn't mention Najera. Take it easy bro you must not have been around when Popeye and R34 busted out on the scene. Many great coincidences have happened and with the # of members in the Rockets organization its bound to happen. Kid could just be blowing smoke but who cares unles your Columbo or Kojack I say keep it 2 urself.

    Well
When you say are not going to stay put with the #9, do you mean attempt to move up. That is what it sounds like, but that would kinda contradict the whole not wanting to add anymore youth thing.

Or do you mean, try and get some good veteran PF leadership with the number 9. If that is the case, only one Id trade 9 for is Brian Grant. I certainly dont want PJ Brown or OT, and while Davis is a possibility, I really would rather perfer a jonathan bender or even al harrington from the pacers---but here i go again chasing the youth, my bad

I would love to have Bender on this team, I would be willing to trade a #9 for him if we got Tabak too, but Zans a fa though.

But then again Bender was #5 last year and cost them Antonio Davis so good luck in aquiring him.

.... What the Rockets are looking to add is a couple of veterans in the front-court who will provide experience and muscle down low.

That right there would coincide w/the previous rumor of us thinking about keeping Tony Mass.

My source would not reveal any names, but when I tossed out a few he said I was going in the right direction.

Ok so u mentioned some names that were far fetched but was "going in the right direction" ??? McDyse is rummored to not be happy at all and has supposedly secretly demanded a trade so that could be it...

From his body language and tone of voice (I know, not the best source) I gathered that they were not staying put with the #9 pick. I mentioned to him my preferences with the pick (Oyedije and Miles -- in that order) and he didn't feel comfortable talking about it.

Well, IMO i think that the rox themselves don't quite know what is going to happen as far as some of the deals that they might be working on. It really could be that everything they've been talking about has been hampered by the lottery order so he is simply not able to say a thing. I am sure they are either gonna keep it or try to move up but it seems rather unlikely we could sneak in the top 3 those teams have needs they need to fill and this lottery has plenty of big guys w/great potential in the NBA so why pass on it.

Welcome to the BBS. However, I didn't really understand the point of your post. You didn't really give any information. Veteran help and draft trades are pretty much a sure thing this off season. Could you be a little more specific?
