aw daym... wished i was still in town and be a contestant. i'm very good at artificial drama. woulda been good for the ratings
They should do a new show called Top Conspiracy Theorists. Contestants have to cook up a new theory from a random assortment a base facts with a large countdown clock ticking away. They have internet, the ability to add “expert opinion”, consult Twitter, and then pull it all together for 5 minute consumption by a panel of highly-acclaimed discredited professors, celebrity theorists, and Fox anchors. While they are cooking, the panel would be able to watch and comment of their research techniques and progress Tucker: “Oh no, looks like Jopat went down a dry Rabbit Hole there. He just wasted 5 minutes.” Giorgio: “yes, but he could possibly still pull it all together by adding some aliens at the end.” Q on zoom with video off: “Aliens is always a popular ingredient, but it can overwhelm a dish and clash with other ingredients. He’ll need to be careful with how he uses it.”
jopat would make something not even the judges can understand, then insult them as he’s voted off to continue crafting his conspiracy at home, posting on his Twitter feed, with ppl telling him to let it go, it’s a TV show about how fast you can cook something up, not to sadly obsess over.
Stopped watching Top Chef when they tried to make Houston a "Pay to Play" city in Top Chef Texas. Y'all forget I've always paid attention to the Houston food scene. This show did us dirty; even though they had constant winners from here.
Monica Pope got screwed on Top Chef Masters. (Masters is the top top, not the up and comers) One contestant screwed up (leaving a key ingredient in the grocery store/market). Monica prepared stuff for both her and the loser, as the other went back to the market. The other’s dish ended up being the clear loser, but the judges advanced her because they “felt sorry for her” making that blunder. They actually said she probably would have done better, so they didn’t want to eliminate her 1st round, wtf. Monica even won the $5k challenge in first segment of show, and they just offed her bc they felt sorry for someone else’s blunder, when Monica was so sweet to prepare both her stuff and the others. Whereas the other two chefs scoffed at helping and said they have to focus on their own prep, and she shouldn’t have forgot her stuff, with no sympathy. I was so pissed. Monica is a Food and Wine Best New Chef award winner of entire South Region, and along with great pal Scott Tycer (another F&W winner) one of the legends of bringing great restaurants back to Montrose and Midtown in the ‘90s/00s.
I knew Cleverley Stone. Monica Poop not only didn't send the proceeds to the Houston Food Bank, but after Cleverley banned her, she created a menu stating she would... Monica is a piece of **** and most in the community know it. Worse? Cleverley's daughter is a **** and she has all the proceeds going into a "fund." Houston Restaurant Weeks was a good idea, and I had a great relationship with the founder. She Loved calling me Fatty Fat b*stard on the radio. But her daughter is looking for profits, and I can't vouch for Houston restaurant weeks any longer.
Lulz at anyone calling Monica a piece of shirt, vs say Scott Tycer. I know Monica personally, too ... and several chef/line cooks for both her and Tycer. A Lot of people were jealous of her after she won best new chef of the south. A lot. And she’s a lesbian, so a lot are hateful Scott Tycer was the dick, but he might have been best chef in Houston over a 20yr period ... period. He and Monica worked there asses of to set a high bar for Houston restaurant scene ... I’m very grateful I could care less about hateful chatter about them, true or not, they ran great restaurants and Monica particularly made customers feel welcome like few top restaurant-owners in town
Let's be clear: Monica knowingly didn't send money to Houston Food Bank. When she was booted the next year by Cleverley, she tried to put her own Houston Food Weeks menu on the table... I know the industry, and Monica is a POS.
