I dont think the Thunder will be higher than the 7th or 8th seed. Not sure why they have become the prediction darlings.

Probably because they played LA pretty well in the playoffs, they have a top 3 player in the NBA, and they are very young and are only getting better.

plus they're a good defensive team and their coach is very underrated...both durant and westbrook also looked more confident and/or improved during FIBA comp...Aldrich also helps their C situation. I can't see them being worse than the Spurs and Portland...and of course Denver, if they trade carmelo...at worst i'd say they're a 6, but a 4-5 is more likely.

this team is actually almost as overrated and hyped as Durant is. To be a top 3 player you have to do more than just score 30 points a game. Durant is not as multi-dimensional as guys like Lebron, Wade and Kobe. He is a match up problem on offense and has potentially defensively but he has not proven to play strong defense for long periods of time like the true elite players. he's a taller Orlando t-mac without the passing game at the moment....if I were starting a team I would take guys like Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Dwight over him in a heart beat. Heck I would consider Rondo over Durant just because we've seen just how quickly Rondo can turn the year lebron was supposed to win into his own personal playoff coming out party by running over the east.

He has the tools but until he puts everything together he will not be in their category. He has yet to make a deep playoff run. It was because of Westbrook and Ibaka that the thunder competed against the lakers.

i'm just glad that Boozer "aka Rockets killer" is gone.

i dont know much about Jefferson's midrange game but it can't nearly be as deadly as Boozer's.

I feel bad for Nash that his suns have gone from being one ugly artest game winner from the finals to not even considered a top 8 team in the west
