I know this thread may have been done to death in the past, but I am new to this board and was curious to see some of the opinions. I'd like to see who some of the younger fans choose, as well as the older ones (like myself) My top 5: Hakeem Moses Malone Calvin Murphy Rudy T Steve Francis I can't include Barkley and Drexler because their best years came with other teams, but I would put them in my next five as well as Ralph Sampson. Injuries limited him pretty early in his career, but he did have some nice seasons. Robert Reid, Llewis Lloyd (could this guy finish?), and John Lucas are high on the list, too. Just Say No! And just for the fun of it...My top 5 all-time NBA players (that I've seen play) Bird Magic MJ Hakeem Barkley (not necessarily in that order) Thanks people!
good topic... 1. hakeem 2. sleepy 3. OT 4. air bullard 5. chuck nevitt...(i actually saw him score in a game )
I could not do 5 only...so I went for 10...the last 4 could be in any order. Hakeem Malone Sampson Murphy Drexler Hayes Barkley Rudy T Francis Lucas J. DaDakota
In no paticular order. Dream Franchise Drexler Barkley Otis Thorpe Mobley I'm only 15 so I haven't seen Moses, Rudy, Murph, and Elvin Hayes play.
A- Team Dream Barkley Drexler Francis Mad Max B- Team Horry, Elie, Thorpe, Bullard, Mobley Im only 21 so I never got to see the others yall have mentioned
I don't know if I can choose just 5 but I will choose the best at each position. Point Guard - John Lucas, he was the best point guard I ever saw play outside of Magic. If it were not for drugs he would easily by a hall of famer and we would have beaten the Celtics in 86, Shooting Guard - Clyde Drexler, it was hard trying to decide between Clyde, Murph and Cat especially since Clyde only played for the Rockets a short time but Clyde was an all around great player and made such a big contribution to the second championship that he is my selection. Small Forward - Robert Horry, I saw both Rick Berry and Rudy T play for the Rockets but greatness had already passed both of those guys up when I can remember them playing. The other candidates for me would be Rodney McCray but I was never impressed by him. Power Forward - Otis Thorpe, Sampson could dominate like Thorpe couldn't but Otis never dissapeared in games the way Ralph did. I loved Barkley but Otis was 3 times the defender that Barkley was. Larry Smith had no offense and Elvin Hayes was in his twilight years when I saw him play with the Rockets. Center - Hakeem Olajuwon, this is not a no brainer. I saw Moses Malone win a MVP and then dominate Kareem Abdul Jabbar in the 81 play offs like no one else ever did...except when he did it again with the 76ers in the finals. Hard to believe that we could possibly get a center that was better than Mo but Dream was. BTW, Mo was a better center than Kareem as was Dream but that is another thread.
I agree, except there is nothing good about Pippen seriously. This would probably be the top 5 for anyone not much older than 20 yrs old. DREAM CLYDE BARKLEY FRANCIS CAT
AH DANG! I NEVER REALLY GOT TO SEE DREAM PLAY THAT MUCH DANG! So here's my list: 1.Francis 2.Mobley 3.Hakeem (saw enough in 99-2000.) 4.Griff (didn't have to see much.) 5.Mo Taylor
Top 5 in Rockets Uniform I have seen play in person 1. Hakeem 2. Clyde 3. Barkley 4. Francis 5. OT Back Ups Pg Kenny Smith ( Too Bad Cassell was only a rookie) Sg Mario Elie ( He did everything) Sf Bullard Pf Horry C Serge Zwikker Horry or griffin both out placed at C Top 5 Ever Pg Magic Sg Jordan SF Garnett (Never saw Larry) Pf Malone C The Dream
