I personally have a few gripes about it. For example Wave Race shouldnt be on there, but games like Final Fantasy X should be moved from the 80's to top 10. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks like a good list to me, but I would have had RE4 on the list over RE2 and I would have added Panzer Dragoon Saga ..

Edit- The list also needs at least one of Space Quest, Kings Quest or Police Quest... Maniac Mansion is a great game also..

Half-Life at 32! It should be top 10 at least.

Looks like a good list with the exceptions of Pac-Man and Donkey Kong not being on there.

That's what I was thinking. Also, I'd replace Zelda: A Link to the Past with the original Legend of Zelda.

Sonic could be a bit higher rated also.

Just a quick few games that were omitted that I think should fit in there somewhere:

    Ninja Gaiden
    Shinobi
    Bubble Bobble
    Double Dragon
    Mega Man

Ahh...this cutscene makes me want to pick up the game again...

That list is terrible. There are so many omissions and wrongly-placed games that I don't even know where to begin. Thumbs down.

I don't like it either, from first glance. I just noticed FF7 isn't on the list at all, so of course Xenogears, one of my other favorites, isn't on either. I didn't even bother taking in the list after that. After reading the other posts, it seems a lot of GREAT games were not on the list.

the person who made that list shouldve made one list for computer games and one for console games. There are just too many good ones to make a top 100 for both combined. Plus a lot of times its impossible to compare the two fairly.

I thought that #002 - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64, GameCube) sucked because it was too easy. There wasn't much challenging about the game at all.

Xenogears was so ahead of its time. Some really good memories of that and FF7. FF8 was amazing as well. I wonder if square is ever going to re-release Xenogears. Konami is releasing suikoden I +II compilation for the PSP. I cant wait for that.

Clutch! that game was one of the most amazing games of its time. Challenge or not it was an amazing technical achievement. Till this day I wonder how they fit so much video game into that N64 cartridge.

Yeah I agree it was a technical achievement. I thought the N64 had some great capabilites. I dunno why I felt underwhelmed for some reason. The lack of challenge bothered me- the map would always tell you where to go and the boss's were usually beaten on the first try.

    My gripes:

#085 - Final Fantasy X (Sony Playstation 2): How are you going to put X on the list and not include VII much less VIII?

#058 - Resident Evil 2 (Sony Playstation): How does RE2 slide to #58 when WAVE RACE 64 is at #33?

#046 - Conker's Bad Fur Day (Nintendo 64): Was this game really that good?

#030 - Metal Gear Solid (Playstation, PC): It's not better than NHL 94?!?! Is hockey even still in existence?!?

#026 - Tecmo Bowl (Nintendo): Super Tecmo Bowl was/is better

    Glaring omissions:

    Super Mario 3
    Chrono Cross
    Madden 95
    Mortal Kombat

I suppose they could re-release it, maybe on the PSP or something, although I guess that's about as much effort they'd put into it. I doubt we'll get anything more though. I wish Namco didn't screw up so much with Xenosaga. :( :( :(

BTW, besides Suikoden I+II on the PSP, I also heard that SE is going to release Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (think that's the name) for the PSP. Basically a re-release of the original game with some extras added in. I never got a chance to play it, so I'm happy about that news. The PSP is starting to become a great source for old-school PS1 era games that are now really hard to find.

Very solid list, though I do think Zelda OOT, Kid Icarus, and Super Mario Kart are pretty overrated.

Good to see all of the Genesis love, but no way is the first Sonic the Hedgehog better than part 2.

WWF No Mercy (N64) belongs somewhere on here.

this list is gay...sure, these games were great for their time...but top 100 of all time should be based on the real top 100 of all time. if nhl 2005 came out in 94'...then 94 would have sucked. if it was really the best nhl game ever, then it would still be selling like crazy - but it's not.

the top 100 games of all time have all been produced in the last 4 or 5 years...except for maybe mario brothers series...those would make late 100 appearances. maybe zelda too.

Terrible list. Many of the newer generation of games are missing. Where's God of War, DMC, Seiken Desetsu 3(mana2),Suikoden,Kyrandia,R-Type,Strider,NFK2K5,Bonks Adventure,Castlvanina-Rondos of Blood,Axelay,Altered Beast and the all mighty Ys Book 1 and 2? Huh...I laugh when I realize FF7 isn't on there but FF10 is? That person must've smoke something good.

Here's a half decent list of the top 100 that was compiled several yrs ago by OPCFG. Its not great but its not to bad either...

    top 100
