Here would be my list, I don't consider Big Al a PF either, he's more of a center for me. 1. Tim Duncan 2. Kevin Garnett 3. Dirk Nowitzki 4. Pau Gasol 5. Amare Stoudemire 6. Carlos Boozer 7. Chris Bosh 8. David West 9. Luis Scola 10. Antawn Jamison
If you were going on the kind of years people were having you'd have to put Troy Murphy on that list. And Haslem IMO is the most underrated PF, he never gets any credit.
I don't count players stat padding on absolute garbage teams like Murphy. Jamison is an exception because he has proven that he can help his team go to the playoffs and do damage.
Nah I agree. Jamison is better. Better than Scola too. Although offensively I could see Scola averaging 22+ if was on the right team.
You serious about that? Gasol has proven even when he was playing on the Grizzlies he was an all-star. Not to mention he led them to the 5th seed in the West before. David West is not better than Gasol by any means. People seriously underrate Gasol, it reminds me of Pippen what he was playing with Jordan. I was undecided between him or LaMarcus Aldridge. I'm sure their is bias since I've watched Scola more.
not a bad list. i'll make some minor changes: 1. Duncan 2. Garnett 3. Gasol 4. Nowitzki 5. Bosh 6. Stoudamire 7. Boozer 8. West 9. Jamison 10. Lee honorable mention (no order): randolph, scola, murphy, brand, aldridge.
Im feeling very lazy today..so plz dont let me pull out the stats that david west averages over gasol in every match up when he faces him...He eats his lunch damn near every game he goes against him ever since memphis....
David Lee and Luis Scola is quite an easy pick for me. I would take Scola. Lee is really just a guy that hustles, gets the rebounds and plays great defense, he doesn't have that much offense in his game. Scola is actually one of the better low-post scorers in the league, people just don't know because we have this 7'6 guy by the name of Yao Ming on our team. Both of those guys hustle and play as hard as they can every game, I just believe Scola is better due to his offensive game. He's closer to Lee's defense, than Lee is to Scola's offense.
1. Duncan 2. Garnett 3. Nowitzki 4. Gasol 5. Bosh 6. Stoudamire 7. Sheed 8. West 9. Jamison 10. Boozer
1) Tim Duncan 2) Amare Stoudemire 3) Kevin Garnett 4) Dirk Nowitzki 5) Pau Gasol 6) Carlos Boozer 7) Chris Bosh 8) David West 9) Antawn Jamison 10) Luis Scola however I think KG and Bosh are very overrated players
How so? Dirk has led his team to the Finals with really no supporting cast, or no all-star I should say. Josh Howard and Jason Terry are pretty good players, but they are only role players. Dirk is the 3rd best PF simply because of what he has done in the playoffs. That's exactly why he's still a better player than Yao too. Brand has gotten to the 2nd round, and that's about all he has done in his post season career http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=westda01&p2=gasolpa01 Really? Is that chewing somebody alive? Considering the fact that they have identical PPG and RPG against each other. Sure Gasol is 7-10 vs him while West is 10-7. Those production numbers are not chewing anybody alive. If you want to see somebody chewing somebody alive. Look no further than Yao vs Howard.
Amare ahead of KG and Dirk? I don't agree about KG being overrated at all. He's been underrated this season by a lot. People don't understand you don't have to get all the stats to lead a team. He's leading the same way Bill Russell did and that's with his defense and rebounding. I do agree with Bosh being overrated though, and I also think Amare is overrated too. I think they are both pretty overrated. Neither of them know how to play defense, however at least Bosh tries he's just too soft to defend. Neither of them can rebound, but again Bosh tries. The only reason why I have Amare over Bosh is simply because Amare has a pair while Bosh doesn't.
I disagree on Aldridge. He's a great talent, definitely. But his rebounding numbers are subpar for a player of his size. I mean Joel freakin' Pryzbilla is the best rebounder on that team (sans Mr. Glass Oden). He also doesn't even average a block a game and he's listed at 6'11" and has very long, lanky arms.
His defense is more perimeter oriented. He knocks the ball when the player is about to take the ball up, like what we see Battier and Artest do. He isn't a shot blocker, but he isn't a poor defender. I still do believe Scola is a better player than Aldridge
I disagree with you too. If Scola was on a team where he could play second fiddle and find more shot attempts, he potentially could be putting up All-Star numbers. Have you not noticed he is the most consistent player on the number three team in the Western Conference and is a double-double machine shooting nearly 54%? You must be setting the bar pretty damn high.
