"My main coach, John Wooden, said, `If you dribble once, that's enough. If you dribble twice, you're not open. If you shoot after dribbling twice, sit on the bench next to me.' Now it's totally common for a player to take 15 dribbles on one possession."

-Bill Walton's quote from Wednesday's Houston Chroncile

Please forward to Steve, Cat, Mooch!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are three months too late!!!!!! I made the same complaint prior to the season starting, I thaught that with the addition of a legit. Center we could close the chapter on 'Dribblemania'. The Lakers of the 80s showed just how to bring the ball up quickly, and that was by passing it. Of course our Guards are not too clever when it comes to passing! I do believe that with an educated guess that with coaching all our wasted time spent dribbling could be eliminated! Rudy T its up to you!

Yes there is a lot of dribbling for large portions of many of the games, but it's a lot better than the past couple of seasons.
Except this year, it seems that Kenny tries to out-dribble everyone on the team once he gets the ball. ;)

Seriously though, that comment from Bill Walton is speaking about a different time in basketball.
While I would like to see more ball movement, it's ignorant not to take advantage of certain natural abilities that many players have in the NBA.
Problem is the decision making once they're in the middle of their move; continue to drive, pass, or stop for the mid-range shot.
