With Kidd possibly coming to the Spurs and the desire of TP for playing elsewhere in that case, what about getting him via a trade ( for example: Cato (they need a true center)+Nachbar for Parker+Smith (resigned for this trade happened) ). We could have a true good point gard and leave Francis at the shooting gard position ( PG when TP is off ) with Mobley as a sixth man
I'd give up Mobley for Parker. We'd either have to take cap fodder (if the Spurs have fodder), or the Spurs would lose some cap space.
We won't trade with a team in our conference that just won the championship. Sending them Mobley would help them too much. If we give them Cato who do we have to back up Yao? Unless they're willing to take Moochie for Parker + filler I don't see it happening.
Tony Parker is overrated. No way I'd trade Cat for him. Be happy with our team: only a few minor adjustments are needed; not bringing in a 20 yr old Frenchman who disappears every other game.
Yes, TP is overrated. On any other team without a pretty dominant go to big man TP probly wouldn't stand out as much, but there were moments when he was a pretty good at putting points on the board himself. Still.. no. And I think that if the Spurs get Kidd, the Kidd/TP backcourt experiment will fail badly.
