Hey guys, I have never heard of these things in my life until my brother and his gf were talking about these stinky bombs...and their stories were just cracking me up!! I was just so surprised that they were this common yet it is also common that people didn't know what they were..anyways my brother sent me a link about it this morning and thought the same if anyone on this board had an experience with these things..
I've had these before, but only the size of a small Willy Wonka nerd, but damn, they are stink bombs allright!!! I try to hack them out, and I'm sure I look like a gagging cat during this process...specifically Bill the cat!
That was pretty much one of the grossest things I have ever read on the intrawebs. I'm now thanking baby Jesus that I've never had tonsil poo. Just sickening. [/pukey face]
I think the medical term is cryptic debris. It occurs when the food gets stuck behind the tonsils. Yes it stinks, because it's pretty much decayed food stuck in your throat. Having your tonsils removed is the remedy.
I have never heard of these before, and I guess I've never got them before. They sound gross, but I am very curious as I want to make some and leave them in someones backpack or something.
i've had them numerous times before...whenever my tonsils get swollen. but i've never smelled them. i'll add it to my life's "to-do list."
Why don't we have a contest to think of a new name for these little things.... I'll start: Tonsil Turds
My brother and I used to squish them on each other's upper lip all the time. Silent-but-violent in solid form.
I get those things all of the time. The first time that I ever got one was when my tonsils were extremely inflamed and irritated. They were so itchy that I was looking at them in the mirror and I saw a little bit of white on one. I was able to reach back and squeeze it out of my tonsil. I didn't know what to think about it as it looked like something that shouldn't be coming out of my throat. Then I squeezed it to see if it was hard, but it just smushed in my fingers. It was kind of dry and grainy on the inside. Then I smelled it to see if it smelled like anything and it was terrible. It scared me because I figured that I had a pretty bad infection if this thing was coming out of my tonsils. I think that I did have a pretty bad infection because I got a few more out that night and the next day. I do this thing with the back of my throat that kind of scratches it and gives me some relief, but it makes a horrible sound and kind of inflames the area more. Anyway during this particular tonsil infection, I was doing my throat scratching and I felt a tear of some sort. I looked inside and saw a piece of my tonsil hanging out into the middle of my throat near the uvula. This scared the hell out of me and I decided that I had to see a doctor. At the time I was going to A&M, so I went to the health center and this old doctor looked into my mouth and said that my tonsils were inflamed and that it was no big deal. I'm like, "Why is a piece of my throat sticking out and can you cut it off? " He said that it would go away when the inflammation went down. I didn't believe that at all, but he obviously wasn't going to do anything about it and he wasn't terribly concerned so that made me feel better. When I got home, I reached back and grabbed the piece of my tonsil and squeezed it and some more of the white stuff came out. I tried to pull it out (gently), but it was definitely stuck to the rest of the tonsil. For a day or two, I had this piece of tonsil hanging back there which gave me kind of a tickling feeling, but not too bad. It felt very unnatural though. One morning I woke up with something loose in my mouth and I knew right away what it was. I went to the bathroom and I was able to spit out that little piece of my tonsil. That was pretty gross.
Funny thread. I just got one of these about 2 weeks ago and was wondering what the hell it was. At first I just thought I had swallowed some hair or something (at least that is what it felt like). Then I realized there was a white dot on the back of my throat. It doesnt really smell (I cant imagine how one would smell that thing unless it was removed). Glad to know it is no big deal, but I think I feel like brushing my teeth now.
