I have an 11 year old schnauzer who pretty much grew up with my kids, and saw me through some tough times. Tomorrow I have to put her down. When I went through a bout with depression Joy would make me rub her and forced me to forget about myself and pay attention to her tricks. When my son was afraid to sleep in the dark she walked with him to his room every night and slept by his side. She has had 2 surgeries because of a very aggressive form of cancer, but her tumors are coming back and her spirit is all but gone. She would probably last for a few more months but the cancer has spread to her nervous system and now she is unable to walk. Tomorrow at 11am is her appointment, pray my strength, she's the closest family member I've ever lost.
I hate to hear that man as I do not at all envy your position. I know eventually that time with come with one of my pets and I know how I'll be in a very not good way. Good thoughts your way.
God dammit. I can't stand dogs getting hurt or put down. Man i'm so sorry you have to go through that tomorrow, . Good luck dude
Went through the exact same thing it seems. My dog had a form of cancer, which at first they thought was gone, but continued to come back, finally taking it to the point where she couldn't walk, same as yours. We had the choice of letting her live what was only going to be a few more months if that even, or putting her down. I couldn't stand seeing him suffer, as I'm sure you're feeling as well, so we had him put down. I'm extremely sorry to hear about your situation, knowing how it feels. As hard as it may be, just try and thank of the good times. Thank of all the crappy homes that dog could have gotten if you wouldn't have taken it in. You gave it an amazing life, and it seems it touched you as well. All you can ask for in a pet. Thoughts are with ya.
Just realized that might have been the worst spelling imaginable. I apologize for that! As someone mentioned, stay strong for your family, I'm sure they will need you as well.
Very sorry to hear that. Its tough saying goodbye but if your dog has aggressive cancer this is the best thing for him than have him suffer longer.
Don't even wanna imagine what you are going through right now. My puppy is my son and I don't know what life would be like without him. Stay strong for the family and hug her all night tonight.
Aw man I'm sorry. It sucks and while you probably don't want to hear it now, it is nice that your family was able to have such a great 11 years. You are doing what's right.
Have been there before. I really feel for you, because it was one of the toughest things I've ever been through.
Sorry to hear that, AB. I got my first ever dog 6 years ago. It was the best decision I've ever made. I dread that day you are facing soon.
Sorry to hear that man. We put our dog down of 16 years 2 months ago. It was tough, but just think of how your dog is going to a better place. Cherish the good times.
Bad news is bad. Tell her what a good dog she is and do the right thing. Tough, man... Been there too and there just ain't no easy way. Give her a treat and being her favorite toy, and know you are doing what is best.
Know what your by through we had to put our 12 year old golden retriever down last week. It hurts more than I expected, they really do become part of your family.
