    Reliant Energy?

I am not sure how many people listen much to the radio. The more I see and hear that guy I am starting to think he is the same guy as "Tom Bodett with Motel 6... we'll leave thei light on for you."

Any one agree, or know if its true?

Definitely NOT the same guy. Tom Bodett was a well known comedian and radio personality LONG before he got the job with Motel 6. Tom from Reliant Energy is some yahoo who spends his days making us want to poke out our eyes and ears.

Sorry, I didn't think this was worthy of it's own thread, so I'll just tack it on here?

Has anyone been to the movies lately, and seen that Coca-Cola commercial with the Nascar Drivers? Is that not the most ridiculously embarrassing things you've ever seen? I loathe the person who started this whole "commercials before the movie" nonsense. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

Actually I just met Drewdog about 30 minutes ago. He does NOT look like Tom from Reliant Energy.

    Next up...I get to meet RM95. :)

i'm sooooooooo with you!!! there's like 7 minutes of commercials before you even hit the previews...you're sitting there 20 minutes after the published start time for the feature before you see a bit of what you came there for!

its a bit excessive, as a matter of fact, that is one of the factors that keeps me away from the movies and watching DVD's at home more.

If you like going to the movies then you have to live with it. They started doing it because the movie houses were going out of business. The first 4 weeks a film is out the studio gets ALL the money. After that the theater gets to keep a percentage. $4 popcorn just wasn't getting the job done anymore and they needed income. Enter the commercials.

I don't think DCKid's point was that commercials before a movie are annoying (which, yeah, they are) but that this one in particularly is just AWFUL. I cringe every time I see it. Half the guys can't deliver a line to save their lives. The unfortunate combination of bad acting and lame dialog causes several of the guys come off as gay. It's just all too uncomfortable.

Wow that just ruined my perception of Tom Bodette..I always pictured him as an old grandfatherly farmer type guy.

Dude...no way. If he looked just like the Reliant guy I would have had this overwhelming desire to punch him in the nose. When I met Drewdog...I had no such thought. :)

Is he a filmmaker? If so I am available for filming at a moment's notice.

No, Coca-Cola sometimes has this really short film by some film student. They're normally extremely lame, but the one I saw today was actually funny.

I saw the NASCAR Coke commercial yesterday before the Bond flick. Who is the freaky greasy looking guy with the terrible pony tail, psuedo goatee, and way too much sun exposure?

Watching him drink Coke made me want a Pepsi.
