You're a jerk. haha. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050620...oeNwd.s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA2OXY1b2VrBHNlYwNlbg-- Prank Against Tom Cruise Leads to Arrest 2 hours, 18 minutes ago The London premiere of Steven Spielberg's "War of the Worlds" turned into a war of words after Tom Cruise was squirted in the face by a man posing as a reporter. Four men were released on bail and were ordered to return to a police station Monday, when they may be charged with assault, a police spokesman said. The 42-year-old actor was outside a movie theater in central London's Leicester Square doing press interviews Sunday when a man squirted Cruise with a water pistol disguised as a microphone, London's Metropolitan Police said. Cruise appeared to laugh at the incident but then asked the prankster: "Why would you do that?" As the man gave a barely audible excuse, Cruise said: "Do you like thinking less of people, is that it?" The prankster tried to walk away but Cruise reached across the metal barrier, held his arm and said: "Don't run away. That's incredibly rude. I'm here giving you an interview and you do that ... it's incredibly rude." The actor grew increasingly irritated and told the man: "You're a jerk." Police detained the man who squirted Cruise and arrested three other men who filmed the incident. The four were working on a new comedy show for British TV station Channel 4 in which celebrities are the targets of practical jokes. They were released on bail several hours later. Katie Holmes, who became engaged to Cruise last week, was at the premiere but not by Cruise's side when the incident occurred. In an interview with Newsweek magazine, on newsstands Monday, Spielberg denies that media attention on Cruise and Holmes forced a change in the publicity campaign for "War of the Worlds." The couple went public with their romance in April. "People say, `Oh, you didn't put Tom on the poster because of what happened. No. The poster was designed in January ... and my decision with all my films has been to use iconography on the posters," Spielberg says. "Tom was fine with that. It's the first time Tom has not been on a poster in his career, by the way." As for Cruise's exuberant appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last month, Spielberg tells the magazine: "What Tom did on `Oprah' was exactly what Tom did with me when he first told me about Katie Holmes. But the press didn't like the way Tom bared his soul to Oprah."
I would pay money for somebody to throw a coconut cream pie in that idiot's kisser. Tom Cruise is a movie star, not an actor.
WOW, thats a calm way to handle things.. I would think as crazy as Hollywood people seem to be, he would have done more stuff than what he did..
Sheesh, I love the internet. This happens, and I read about it just minutes later. Ya know - I don't blame Cruise one bit. Hopefully, people will think twice before doing stupid stuff like this.
Tom had every right to call the guy a jerk. But to find police and file assault charges just shows how out of touch these people are. Tom. It was water. Get over it you whiny b****. Go play house some more with Katie. I really want those two to go away.
I agree that Tom's a whiny b****. But idiots shouldn't go around doing crap like that to people, and the only way they'll stop is if someone stands up to 'em.
Will America's #1 douche bag please stand up. Just kidding, I like Tom Cruise. Like everyone else though I'm getting tired of him acting like a school girl over katie Holmes.
Maybe, but I doubt if someone hit me with a water gun, the police would do anything about it. Since when is squirting someone with water assault? I'm fine with. it, personally.
I'm sick of the Katie Holmes stuff, too, but Cruise wasn't out of line. If you squirt a complete stranger in the face with water for no reason, he has the right to call you a jerk to your face. Just because you're a celebrity doesn't mean people can just **** with you. Imagine what would have happened if the "reporter" had pulled this stunt with 50 Cent or somebody.
No one should be able to get away with what those pranksters did. Imagine if you were walking to work or eating dinner and some idiot squirts water on you because it's funny. I commend Tom Cruise for being so composed. If that happened to a normal person, the interviewer would've been eating a fist.
I don't know, people might find me giggling and bubbly if I got to hit tap that ass on a regular basis. With that said, Tom should have decked that guy. I wouldn't have blamed him one bit if he did.
I don't care what y'all say. If you were 42 and nailing arguably the hottest 26 year old on the planet, you'd be jumping up and down on couches too.
They make him look like Yao Ming on the screen, though. I've never understood the Tom Cruise hate. Nor the haters coming out in full force with this Katie Holmes thing. Jealousy is not a good thing.
