    Maybe Hakeem has a point!
Let's look at todays Rockets and the Rockets
    from '94

Offensively I think our squad is more potent

Hakeem does 50% of what he did in 94
Francis, Mobely, Walt and Moe can make up
    the difference

The problem is defense. I don't think we are as good.
94 i think . .had Thorpe, Horry, Smith and Vernon
    3/4 were DAMN DECENT DEFENDERS
thorpe and horry were very underrated IMO

    The Questions are:
    Moe's offense Vs Thorpe's Defense
Walt's O vs Horry O and D [Ok no contest]
    Mobely's O and D vs Vernon's D and Streaky nature
Francis Vs Smith [ok again no Contest]

    Rocket River
maybe the 4 out and hakeem in the middle can work again.
on this time instead of the 3 . . .we would
    attack the zone

The D is the key for sure. This team doesn't have anywhere close to the defensive prowess that team did.

Most importantly of all, you didn't take into account the other teams in the league. I cannot imagine that New York and Houston in 1994 would rank up with the Lakers this season even with Hakeem as good as he was.

I remember Kenny Smith as being rather weak defensively. I'm not sure about Maxwell.

Thorpe and Horry were good, though.

Does the older team ever win in that simulation? My 2001 Rockets team won 11 straight times, usually by at least 10 pts. Hrmph...

Do you have them as the home or visitors?

edit: hmm... not too much differences, 2001 team was 6-1.

    2001 Rockets: 112
    1965 Celtics: 97

    2001 Rockets: 102
    1988 Lakers: 90

    2001 Rockets: 107
    1984 Celtics: 91

The Rockets were the home team in all of these games.

Looks like we could dominate Russell, Showtime, and Bird/McHale/Parish but we can't beat the freaking Clippers!

"Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

I did one simulation between the 1994-1995 Rox and the 1964-1965 Celtics to get the Russel vs. Hakeem matchup.

Hakeem had 47 pts and 21 reb.
Russel had 7 pts. and 12 reb.

Just thought that was a little silly.

That site is kindof fun and cute, but the 2000/2001 Rockets NEVER EVER LOST . . . home, away, everything - they ALWAYS WON . . . even against this year's lakers!! Shaq was once held to 3 points!

Surprised you guys haven't done one of the more interesting games yet: championship Rockets of 93-94 vs. the 96-97 team with the big three of Dream, Chuck, and Clyde. Would've been an interesting matchup.

    96-97 Rockets 95
    93-94 Rockets 90
